Aquazzura to debut inaugural eyewear collection in June

Aquazzura, the ebullient and happening footwear brand, is about to fête a new launch—an inaugural eyewear collection in June. The eyewear collection will mark a smart new chapter in the house's aesthetic of blending smart Italian sophistication with top-rate craftsmanship. The goal: to reimagine sunglasses as objets d'art, infusing each pair with vibrant elegance and the spirit of escapism at the heart of the brand. The eyewear collection will be available exclusively in Aquazzura boutiques and on starting in June. Three distinct styles anchor the collection, each a tribute to feminine individuality. Like the Palm Beach, defined in a release as 'a poetic homage to retro glamour and the sun-drenched allure of Italian summer. Rimless, profiled with elongated floral contours and made in translucent nylon and acetate, they echo the crystal chandeliers and handblown bottles of the 1950s and 1960s.' While the Bella plays on retro glamour with oversized, Seventies-inflected aviator shapes in matte or translucent acetate—spanning black, light gray, and honey—it is combined with a striking 3D-effect crocodile motif tracing the upper rim and bridge, evoking Aquazzura's expert mastery of diverse materials. The Riviera, meanwhile, is cat-eyed and softly contoured, inspired by Murano glass and finished with metal detailing embedded within the arms. All three models are linked by a core signature: a wrought wire shaped like a palm, tipped delicately at the top, encased within the acetate arms. Prices range from €395 for the Bella shades to €550 for the Palm Beach style. 'Eyewear feels like a natural extension for Aquazzura, as we have always been a brand deeply connected to the sea and sunny destinations. I discovered an exceptional boutique factory in the Veneto region that handcrafts each pair with intricate details, making the sunglasses sophisticated, modern, and beautiful,' said creative director Edgardo Osorio, who founded the label in 2012. News of the eyewear launch comes one month after the Florence-based house's latest brand extension—a bar inside the Hotel de Russie in Rome.

Vanderpump Villa star Stassi Schroeder makes gross sex confession in reality TV comeback

has spilled the tea on her sex life with husband Beau Clarke as she revealed they once got frisky in their daughter's ball pit. The confession came during season two of Vanderpump Villa when the couple were asked about the 'strangest place' they had ever had sex while playing a drinking game on the show. After reading out the question and trying to come up with an answer, Stassi said: 'Oh my God, I don't know! Are we so vanilla?' Beau said: 'I mean, we are not strange.' The memory then arrived in Stassi's mind, she said: 'Oh, I got it! After Hartford's first birthday party, we had sex in her ball pit.' Her husband responded: 'We did! We did! And we also changed the balls the next day!' However, Stassi disagreed with her husbands account and said: 'No we didn't!' In a confessional, Stassi said: 'Now that this is coming out, none of the other moms at Hartford's school are going to let their kids come to her birthday party.' Stassi is starring as a spying 'special VIP' in the second season of Lisa Vanderpump's reality competition Vanderpump Villa, set in a 12th century castle in the South of France. In the trailer, Lisa said: 'Remember when I used to tell you don't get involved in other people's business? 'Well now, I want you to do the exact opposite. Snooping.' Stassi and Beau's love story began in 2017, and fans were able to watch their relationship unfold on Vanderpump Rules. They eventually became engaged in 2019 - with Vanderpump Rules cameras rolling - and tied the knot in September 2020 in a small backyard ceremony. They had their first daughter Hartford in January 2021 before marrying again at the Hotel de Russie in Italy in May 2022. Their second child, son Messer Rhys, was born in September 2023. The LMU grad was only 24 when she became a server at Lisa's WeHo restaurant SUR and starred in Vanderpump Rules for eight seasons until she was fired in 2020. Stassi was accused of making 'racially-insensitive comments' on her Straight Up podcast as well as filing a false police report in 2018 against the only African-American on the show, Faith Stowers. Schroeder first found fame competing in the eighth season of CBS' The Amazing Race with her family in 2005.

The Francis effect

Pope Francis was a man of remarkable complexity who cultivated an image of utmost simplicity. He began the moment he first stepped out on the balcony overlooking St. Peter's Square in plain white papal attire, without the traditional red mozzetta covering his shoulders, and greeting onlookers with a homely 'buona sera'. The following day, he was photographed settling his hotel bill. Instead of moving into the Apostolic Palace, he opted to live in a Vatican guesthouse, the Casa Santa Marta. This was also seen as a sign of the new Pope's humble style. But the decision was more complicated than it seemed: the Casa Santa Marta's rooms aren't drafty monastic cells; the Apostolic Palace isn't exactly the Hotel de Russie. Pope Francis later joked that he had chosen to live in the more sociable residence for 'psychiatric reasons'. Francis's life up to his election was also far from straightforward. He was born in the teeming, cosmopolitan Argentine capital, Buenos Aires, in 1936, the first of five children of Italian immigrants.
