African Sources at the Sharjah House of Poetry
The evening included poets Mazen Salah Al Din from Sudan and poet Karamba Davy from Gambia, a student at Al Qasimia University. The evening was attended by poet Mohammed Abdullah Al Buraiki, director of the House, and a large number of critics, poets, and poetry lovers, who packed the theatre, filling its spacious hall with enthusiasm, interaction, and applause. Building a solid bridge of beauty The evening was introduced by poet Mustafa Al Hafnawi, who welcomed the attendees and extended his sincere thanks to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his generous patronage of culture and arts in the UAE and the Arab world. Al Hafnawi also praised the role of the House of Poetry in Sharjah and the events it offers, saying that gathering in the house aims to build a solid bridge of beauty. Readings The poetry readings were opened by poet Dr. Mazen Salah El Din, whose poems mostly address emotions and the psychological relationship between the poet and poetry. The evening was concluded by poet Karamba Davy, a student at Al Qasimia University in Sharjah, who comes from the sources of African beauty. He recited a poem in praise of the Prophet entitled "The Greatest Blessing: Muhammad," in which he discussed the Prophet's merits and virtues. The poet also recited another text in which he expressed his love and attachment to the land of the UAE, where he studies. His poetic imagery was filled with delicate emotion, blending praise with love. Finally, poet Mohammed Al Buraiki honoured the participating poets and the evening's host.

House of Poetry in Sharjah organises a poetry evening
The event was attended by poet Mohammed Abdullah Al-Buraiki, Director of the House of Poetry, along with a large audience of critics, poets, and poetry enthusiasts who filled the theater and interacted warmly with the recitations. Gratitude and Welcome Dr. Ahmed Aqili opened the evening by warmly thanking His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his unwavering support of Arabic language and poetry. He emphasized that under the Ruler's visionary leadership, Sharjah has become a shining beacon of culture and poetry, nurturing creativity and elevating literary expression everywhere. Spiritual Opening Reading The readings were opened by poet Mohamed Al-Mutayyam, who presented texts that soared through spiritual and self-reflective spaces. He began with a spiritual piece titled "The Journey," in which the fragrant prophetic biography was beautifully evoked, using a subtle and captivating symbolic style. Among his recitations were lines from this inspiring work. In conclusion, poet Mohammed Al Buraiki honoured the participating poets and the evening's presenter.

The Spotlight on Young Chinese Poets at the 26th Berlin Poetry Festival
From June 8th to June 14th, 2025, under the invitation of the Haus für Poesie (House of Poetry) in Germany, the Chinese cultural non-profit organisation QiaoDong Archway curated the China section of the 26th Berlin Poetry Festival. Participants included Misty poet Yang Lian, young poets Dai Weina, Li Jing, Yin Zixu, Xu Yi, Zhou You'an, and Yu Zhe, as well as scholar Ma Ke and Zhao Tai, lead vocalist of rock music band Mercader. Notably, QiaoDong has established a Sino-German Poetry Translation Workshop dedicated to facilitating mutual translation between Chinese and German poets and nurturing a new generation of young translators. The workshop has already achieved remarkable results, which were presented at the Berlin Poetry Festival. On June 8th, Li Jing, Yin Zixu, and Xu Yi participated in the Reading on Green event held at Berlin's Silent Green, organised by the Haus für Poesie. On June 9th, Yin Zixu engaged in a poetry dialogue and mutual translation session with German poet Michel Decar. On June 10th, QiaoDong hosted a translator roundtable on Sino-German poetry translation, featuring Ye Juntao, Jiang Yufeng, Jin Xiaowan, Zou Yousheng, and Sool Park. On June 12th, QiaoDong organised a bilingual poetry reading session. The Chinese readings were presented by Yang Lian, Dai Weina, Ma Ke, Li Jing, Yin Zixu, Xu Yi, Ye Juntao, Zhang Xuemeng, Zhou You'an, and Yu Zhe; the German readings were performed by Ann Cotten, Janin Wölke, Lara Rüter, Mátyás Dunajcsik, and Michel Decar. On June 14th, QiaoDong hosted a Chinese poetry forum at the Akademie der Künste. The discussion featured Zhao Tai, Li Jing, Yin Zixu, Xu Yi, Zhou You'an, and Yu Zhe, with Dai Weina and Yang Lian delivering an introductory and concluding speech. The event highlighted the independence and complexity of contemporary Chinese poetry, articulating its rich potential for multidimensional development. It also offered a concentrated glimpse into China's current poetic ecosystem – where creative practice transcends boundaries of knowledge, profession, age, and social background. People from all walks of life, in every state of being, are passionately pursuing their own poetry. The Chinese program of the 26th Berlin Poetry Festival marked the first collective appearance of Chinese post-1990s poets on the international literary stage. It enabled the world to gain a deeper understanding of Chinese poetry, presented an important aspect of the literary ecology in China's new era, and demonstrated the value and role of Chinese poetry in global cultural exchanges. 'Wet Banks' at Sharjah House of Poetry
The evening featured poets Dr Abdullah Abu Shamais, Shaima Hassan, and Zakaria Mustafa. The evening was attended by poet Mohammed Abdullah Al Buraiki, director of the House, and a large crowd of critics, poets, and poetry lovers, who filled the theatre and engaged with the experiences and texts with enthusiasm and love. The evening was hosted by Rana Al Asali, who welcomed the attendees and extended her deepest gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his contributions to Arab culture. The poets ascended to the stage to recite their poems. The opening was by Dr. Abdullah Abu Shamais, whose works revolve around current humanitarian issues, weaves rhetorical images from pain that touch the heart. A bouquet of poems Poet Shaima Al Hassan read a collection of poems that addressed personal and human concerns. In her poem, "What Is Not for Sale," she delves into the transformations of the human spirit, extracting meanings of love, longing, and nostalgia. She also read another poem, titled "Metaphors of Love," which addressed the concept of writing and language, and their relationship to the spirit of poetry. Finally, poet Mohammed Al Buraiki honoured the participating poets and the evening's host.
