Exploring potential trade packages for the Boston Celtics

Exploring potential trade packages for the Boston Celtics As we approach the offseason, the Boston Celtics are projected to be one of the more active teams in the league. Brad Stevens must try to get the team below the second luxury tax apron. Jayson Tatum's Achilles tendon tear means the franchise isn't expected to be a championship competitor next season, which, in turn, negates the need for such an expensive roster. Not only will the Celtics need to part ways with multiple veteran talents, they will also need to acquire some younger players to help remain competitive now while building for the future. Walking such a fine line will be a difficult task for Stevens. In truth, it may take 12 months to get the roster back in shape to contend at the highest level. Still, with so much uncertainty surrounding Boston's current crop of players, there will be no end to trade ideas. In a May 28 episode of the "How 'Bout Them Celtics?" podcast, hosts Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance dissected multiple trade ideas for different players on the roster. The duo explored how realistic each trade would be, and whether they would like to see the Celtics push forward with a deal. Exploring two potential trade partners for the Boston Celtics and Kristaps Porzingis

Exploring two potential trade partners for the Boston Celtics and Kristaps Porzingis Entering the final year of his two-year, $60 million contract, Kristaps Porzingis is widely viewed as a potential trade candidate for the Boston Celtics. The talented big man has struggled for health throughout his tenure on Joe Mazzulla's team, and with Jayson Tatum ruled out for the foreseeable future, now could be the perfect time to begin looking elsewhere. When healthy, Porzingis is still one of the most talented centers in the NBA. He's an elite rim protector, floor spacer and post scorer. He can also attack off the drive, work out of the dunker spot, and fill multiple roles on defense. You can't rely on him to be in the rotation when you need him most. During a recent episode of the "How 'Bout Them Celtics" podcast, hosts Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance broke down two potential landing spots for Porzingis, should the Celtics decide to trade him. Simone and LaFrance discussed the pros and cons of each potential destination, while also touching on what each trade package could look like. Was Celtics' Jayson Tatum snubbed for Player of the Month?

Was Celtics' Jayson Tatum snubbed for Player of the Month? The Boston Celtics enjoyed a strong run during the month of March, winning 14 of their 15 outings. Jayson Tatum was the best player on Boston's roster, averaging 27.9 points, 8.7 rebounds and 6.5 assists in 11 appearances. Nevertheless, Tatum fell short when it came to winning the NBA's Eastern Conference Player of the Month award, with Coby White of the Chicago Bulls as the recipient. Tatum missed four games during March. Those missed outings likely hurt his chances of winning the individual accolade. Still, his on-court production cannot be denied, and neither can his importance to the Celtics' chances of success. During a recent episode of the "How 'Bout Them Celtics?" podcast, hosts Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance discussed Tatum being snubbed for the Player of the Month award, leading them to debate his candidacy over White, who has been fantastic for the Bulls. What can Miles Norris bring to the Boston Celtics?

Shortly after the Boston Celtics gritty win over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday, March. 2, Brad Stevens made the decision to waive Anton Watson. The 24-year-old forward joined the Celtics as the 54th pick in the 2024 NBA draft. Stevens' decision quickly led Celtics fans to begin questioning when the other shoe was going to drop, as waiving Watson made no sense without another move being lined up. Shortly after Watson being waived, the Celtics announced they had signed Miles Norris on a two-way deal. Norris, 24, is known as a sharpshooting wing, and had been playing his trade with the Memphis Hustle. It has since been reported that Norris' deal was a two-year two way contract, meaning he will remain with the franchise beyond the current season. Shortly after Norris' addition was announced, Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance shared their immediate thoughts on the move via their "How 'Bout Them Celtics?" podcast. The hosts dove into Norris' stats from this season and the upside he provides at his position. The duo also debated whether Norris could earn some minutes at the back end of Joe Mazzulla's rotation between now and the end of the season. Boston Celtics' secure 'big win' over Dallas Mavericks to end road trip

Boston Celtics' secure 'big win' over Dallas Mavericks to end road trip The Boston Celtics secured a bounce-back win over the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday, Jan. 25,, ending their second West Coast road trip of the month with a 3-1 record. The victory was also Boston's first road win over the Mavericks since defeating them during the 2024 NBA Finals to secure the franchise's 18th championship. The Celtics needed this win, as it allowed them to quickly rebound from their disappointing performance against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, Jan. 23. Joe Mazzulla's team has been struggling to find consistency this season. They've dropped 14 games and are 16-11 over their last 27 outings. Still, there's no denying they produced a much-improved showing against the Mavericks to close out a difficult road swing on a high note. During a recent episode of the "How 'Bout Them Celtics?" podcast, hosts Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance shared their thoughts on the team's latest win. The hosts dove into the Celtics' overall production, including Derrick White's monster third quarter that saw him snap out of a multi-game slump.
