Jannas' J-Squad grooves their way to nationals

Jannas' J-Squad grooves their way to nationals In a tense provincial dance competition, Hoërskool Jan Viljoen High School's J-Squad earned a magnificent Pro-gold and secured their spot in the National Open Dance Championships. On July 12, J-Squad competed at Crawford International Ruimsig in the Elements of Dance. Their hard work paid off tremendously, and they achieved over 90 on the provincial level. This achievement has secured their place at nationals, which will take place from September 18–22 at the Etienne Rousseau Theatre in Sasolburg. The dance team also participated in the Gauteng Open Regional Championship on 26 July. This competition was hosted by the National Dance Society of South Africa at the Blairgowrie Recreation Centre in Randburg. It was there that J-Squad obtained gold with a stunning score of 96.3%. 'They will be competing at the National Open Dance Championships in December as well,' deputy principal Bianca van der Schyff said.

As Hoërskool Jan Viljoen High School's netball teams recently competed in the Best of the West Tournament, they showcased determination through teamwork. • Lees ook: Jannas se Kamakazi's wys wie is baas Vice principal Bianca van der Schyff explained that the U15, U16 and first netball teams participated in this tournament. She added that all three teams gained valuable experience while also preparing for upcoming leagues. Although not every game ended in victory, our team showed determination, teamwork and sportsmanship. We won some and we lost some, but most importantly, we learnt a lot,' Bianca expressed.
