Soak up all the glorious details of Pagani's latest hypercar As much cars as they are rolling works of art, Pagani models rarely fail to blow us away. The new Huayra Codalunga Speedster is no exception. Following on from the standard Huayra Codalunga, this one is an open-top version that further amps up the drama. Inspired by racing cars from the 1950s and 1960s, the new Speedster is a visual knockout, and if its design fails to move you, its 852-horsepower V12 should do the job. 0:04 / 0:09 What is the Jeep Wrangler 4xe Backcountry? Of course, the new roof most distinguishes this car from the coupe. This new hard top roof has a transparent section made of polycarbonate. 2 From the side, one can appreciate how seamlessly the roof blends in with the body. The lower shut line rises towards the rear, guiding the eye along the streamlined body. 3 Source: Pagani Monolithic Avional wheels measure 20 inches in front and 21 inches at the back. The rear wheels alone are tasked with transmitting all 852 horses and 811 lb-ft of torque to the road. No acceleration claims are made, but the Speedster is capable of topping out at 217 mph, making it one of the fastest cars in the world. The interior center section merges gently into the rear exterior, leading all the way to the exhaust system. 5 Source: Pagani Speaking of exhaust systems, the Pagani has no less than six tailpipes – or twice the number you'd find on a GR Corolla. The upper four pipes are ceramic-coated, while the pair at the bottom are titanium items. 6 Source: Pagani The car's long tail is evident from this angle, gently sloping down from the roll bar. 7 Source: Pagani Pagani interiors are the polar opposite of modern cabin design, which have come to rely too heavily on lighting and screen real estate; switch everything off, and most cars have stark interiors devoid of personality and richness. The Speedster couldn't be more different. Bejeweled details are everywhere, materials are astounding, and the tech that is there is never allowed to overwhelm the sense of occasion. 8 Source: Pagani Pagani says the steering wheel and gear knob are inspired by classic racing. Between the mahogany inserts and aluminum rivets, both elements are stunning. The seven-speed Xtrac gearbox features both pure manual and automated manual versions, by the way. Like the Pagani Utopia Roadster, this is a rare manual transmission car with a V12. 9 Source: Pagani A special fabric on the seats has an embroidered element with over 450,000 individual stitches, and these are all completed by hand. 10 Source: Pagani No digital gauge cluster could hope to match the spectacle of the Huayra Codalunga's analog dials. They have a color scheme that matches the cabin. 11 Semi-matte finishes and tones that capture the feel of the 1960s permeate throughout the Pagani's dazzling interior. The exposed gearbox mechanism is a work of art on its own, as are the toggle switches in the center stack. About the Author Karl Furlong View Profile

Pagani Huayra Codalunga Speedster Is an Open-Top Masterpiece

Pagani has revealed the Huayra Codalunga Speedster, a convertible version of the Codalunga coupe revealed in 2022. The Codalunga wears an extended tail with aerodynamic bodywork and a six-outlet exhaust. The twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V-12 produces 851 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque and can be had with a manual transmission. Just as Pagani continued cranking out variations on the legendary Zonda long after it had begun building its successor, so too is Pagani releasing new takes on the Huayra after already starting production of the Utopia. The latest rolling artwork to come out of San Cesario sul Panaro, Italy, is the Huayra Codalunga Speedster, an open-top version of the longtail coupe revealed in 2022. Pagani The Speedster is nearly identical to the Codalunga coupe, aside from the lack of a roof. There's a wide-mouthed grille that sits atop an integrated front splitter, while the windshield sits lower for a more aerodynamic profile. In case of adverse weather, there's a hardtop roof with a large glass panel that flows smoothly into the sculpted bodywork and covers the V-12 engine. The streamlined look is emphasized by the elongated rear end, which dips down before kicking up at the end to form a small spoiler. The taillights seemingly float within the rear fascia, and the six-outlet exhaust features four tips arranged in a square above and two additional outlets hidden in the rear diffuser. Pagani The cabin sports Pagani's typical ornate design, with hand-stitched leather, solid-milled metal trim, and lots of physical switchgear. The carbon-fiber steering wheel sports a mahogany rim with aluminum rivets, and the wood also appears on the gear knob that is connected to an exposed linkage, highlighting the Codalunga's old-school, engaging character. Pagani There's also a new fabric created from embroidery on the seats, door panels, and center console, which echoes the look of the quad-exhaust pipes. Each embroidered element is said to consist of 450,000 individual stitches. The V-12 engine is the same twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter unit, supplied by AMG, long used by Pagani, here delivering 852 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque, the same as in the Utopia. The engine is hooked up to a seven-speed gearbox from Xtrac, offered in either automated manual or full manual configurations and hooked up to the rear wheels. This is only the second Huayra to be offered with a manual, after the Huayra Epitome from last year. Pagani Only 10 Huayra Codalunga Speedsters will be built, and Pagani says they are fully homologated for road use around the world. Deliveries will kick off in 2026. There's no word on price, but given that the Codalunga coupe reportedly started at around $7.4 million, the Speedster is undoubtedly expensive.
