Couple Ask Golden Retriever To Guess Baby's Gender, Unprepared for Result

In an adorable TikTok video, a golden retriever named Huckleberry was given a very special task, predicting the gender of his owners' baby. What happened next has melted hearts among social-media users. The viral clip, shared in May under the username @michaelandabbey, shows the pregnant poster, Abbey Less, from Ohio, kneeling in front of the 4-year-old pup, presenting him with two choices. "Is it a boy or a girl? Baby brother or baby sister?" she asks the pup, as she holds both hands up for him to make his choice. Screenshots of the viral video show the poster asking Huckleberry to guess whether he's having a baby brother or sister. Screenshots of the viral video show the poster asking Huckleberry to guess whether he's having a baby brother or sister. @michaelandabbey "Before we opened the envelop we asked our dog if he thought we were having a boy or a girl?" she explains in the caption, "we did best two out of 3 to be safe." After taking his time to carefully consider his choices, the golden retriever made up his mind, and decided to go for 'baby sister.' Less told Newsweek that Huckleberry is the "heart of [their] little family," and they always involve him in whatever they do. "We've always dreamed of having a golden retriever, and since the moment we brought him home, he's been part of everything we do, from travel to daily routines. He's affectionate, expressive, and hilariously intuitive," Less said. "Whether we're getting ready in the morning or lounging on the couch, he's right there with us. He's not just our pet; he's our best friend, sidekick, and now, soon-to-be big brother," she added. So the couple also decided to give Huckleberry an important role in their gender revel. "Instead of throwing a big gender-reveal party, we wanted a quiet, personal moment and, naturally, Huckleberry had to be part of it. "We asked him one last time if he thought it was a boy or girl (we'd asked him a few times before just for fun), and his side-eye paired with his 'answer' had us cracking up. We added a dramatic slow zoom for comedic effect, and somehow it just struck a chord with viewers," Less added. It turns out that Huckleberry was right. In an update shared the following day, the couple opened the scan envelop on camera, to share their genuine reaction with their followers, confirming that they are indeed having a baby girl. While gender-reveal parties are common among expecting parents in the United States, many don't like the idea. Data shared by YouGov found about 35 percent of Americans say these parties are "unnecessary." Less and her husband, Michael, are high-school sweethearts and recently celebrated 12 years of marriage, so this new chapter of life feels incredibly special for them. Less said: "What's meant the most is how many people have related to including their dogs in life's big (and small) moments. We thought we were the only ones asking our dog questions and letting him 'weigh in;' turns out, we're definitely not alone. "This pregnancy has been such a beautiful chapter, and we're so grateful that Huckleberry gets to be part of it. We know he's going to be the best big brother," she added. The video quickly went viral on social media and has so far received over 8.6 million views and more than 1.1 million likes on the platform. One user, Joceline, commented: "Not him looking at the camera like he's in an episode of the office." Kayla posted: "The side eye … 'If I don't pick, will it be neither?'" AFlanagan85 added: "He put some serious thought into his answer." Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share? Huckleberry, Greensboro's pygmy hippo, turning 2; ‘80% adorable, 20% mischief'

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — One of Greensboro's cutest animal residents is having a birthday! Huckleberry, the pygmy hippo who lives with her mother Holly and father Ralph at the Greensboro Science Center, will turn 2 years old on May 24. The little hippo captured hearts locally when she was born in 2023, but 2024 saw a huge spike in the global awareness of pygmy hippos after the viral celebrity of Moo Deng in Thailand. After Moo, there came Scotland's Haggis and Virginia's Poppy, among others. All pygmy hippos are beautiful, of course, but the Piedmont Triad had a charismatic baby superstar first, which counts for a lot. Her keeper, Mike, says 'When she started to be more independent, Huckleberry would go and explore new spaces and act like a tough hippo. When mom would walk away to a new area and Huckleberry did not see her do this, she would jump on the spot as soon as she realized mom wasn't there and run to where mom was. Huckleberry = 80% adorable, 20% mischief.' That math adds up! If you're interested in visiting Huckleberry, she'll be celebrating her birthday in style Saturday morning! The pygmy hippopotamus weighs in a lot leaner than their river hippo cousin, only reaching a scant 350 to 600 pounds versus the river hippos' multi-ton average. Pygmy hippos are considered an endangered species in their native West Africa. You can keep up with Huckleberry and the other animals at the Greensboro Science Center on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Guy Fieri Teams Up With Waterloo Sparkling Water To Launch Travel-Inspired Flavors

Lemon Italian Ice, Huckleberry Cobbler and Spiced Mango Sorbet flavors — each inspired by Fieri's ... More personal experiences. The Mayor of Flavortown is at it again. As we slide into the spring and summer months, Guy Fieri has once again teamed up with Waterloo Sparkling Water to create three limited-release flavors of sparkling water. Both Fieri and Waterloo are known for their fun, lively demeanors which allowed them to knock it out of the park with the brand new Lemon Italian Ice, Huckleberry Cobbler and Spiced Mango Sorbet flavors — each inspired by Fieri's personal experiences. "We are thrilled to collaborate with Guy Fieri on these fantastic sparkling waters, bringing to life our mutual love of epic flavor with a first-of-its-kind strategic brand collaboration in this competitive category," says Kathy Maurella, CMO of Waterloo Sparkling Water. "When the Mayor of Flavortown joined us at our summer launch event last year, we immediately started brainstorming more ways to capture the spirit of both Waterloo and Flavortown.' Catch these flavor-filled waters on shelves now This collection of flavors really hits home for Fieri as each one is tied to a memory and destination that means a lot to Fieri and his family. As a true fan of sparkling water, working with Waterloo was an easy decision for Fieri. 'I think what Waterloo does is always next level,' says Fieri. 'I was impressed with them even before I ever worked with them.' The process he says is filled with dedication, sharing one flavor had 66 different variations he and the team tried before getting it just right. Lemon Italian Ice Lemon Italian Ice tastes like a sun-kissed wave of lemony tart and sweet, with notes of fresh, citrusy sweetness and a zesty lemon kick in a nostalgic tribute to the iconic beachside treat. For Fieri that treat is specifically Del's Lemonade. 'When you see that cart on the side of the road in Rhode Island, you just know you have to stop for a frozen lemonade,' says Fieri. 'The Waterloo team even had it shipped to their offices so we could be sure to get the flavor I pictured just right.' Huckleberry Cobbler Huckleberry Cobbler is a true surprise with a burst of wild berries and comforting spice, weaving together bright sweetness, tart Huckleberry, and rich streusel flavors. 'This flavor is where things really went off the rocker,' shared Fieri. 'There's the sweet, savory, tart notes of the huckleberries, but then that brown buttery, sugary flavors you need in a cobbler, it's such a good contrast of flavors.' Meant to evoke flavors of the Pacific Northwest, huckleberries are a treasured flavor to Fieri who says he loves how unique they are since you don't find them as often as other berries. Spiced Mango Sorbet Spiced Mango Sorbet is a uniquely refreshing blend reminiscent of a traditional Mexican dessert, balancing the tropical sweetness of mango with zesty lime and a touch of savory spice. 'When we say spiced here, it's not spicy, it's more of the spices (like Tajin) that you'll find sprinkled on fruits you might buy from a cart on the side of the road somewhere like Mexico,' says Fieri. With the effervescence of the water, the flavors are even more enhanced. 'You instantly feel like you're on vacation. I can't think of a place that grows mangos that doesn't make me smile — Florida, Mexico, the Caribbean — it's such a special fruit.' As a fun way to celebrate the launch, Waterloo Sparkling Water will be handing out free samples of the new flavors to consumers in New York City on April 10th. Just look for Waterloo's Epic Flavor Can Cruiser on W 18th St (between 6th and 7th Avenue) from 3:30 to 6:30pm. Designed specifically at Fieri's request, the Waterloo Can Cruiser was created by the person who he trusts to restore his own personal cars. 'I really wanted to do something sensational and thought of the Weinermobile, and knew it would be so cool to make a Waterloo car. 'I called my car builder and asked him to come over to meet the Waterloo team,' says Fieri who shared they knocked around ideas for bringing a lifesize, driveable can-shaped car to life. 'The next day, I got a call saying we're building this thing.' These limited-time-only flavors are rolling onto shelves nationwide at Walmart, Target, Whole Foods, Albertsons Safeway, HEB, Central Market, Stop & Shop, Amazon, select Kroger divisions, Hy-Vee, Fresh Direct, Gopuff and more, and with availability at Aldi in July.
