Crown Prince launches Jordan's 2025 Hussein Youth Camps
Representing His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Minister of Youth Yazan Shdeifat inaugurated the 2025 edition of the Hussein Youth Camps for Work and Construction on Saturday, under the slogan: 'Amman, the Capital of Arab Youth.' Speaking at the launch event, Shdeifat described the long-standing camps, now in their 57th year, as a 'national milestone' that fosters values of loyalty, commitment, and civic responsibility among young Jordanians. He emphasized their continued role in shaping a generation that is both conscious and capable of driving progress. 'These camps are practical platforms to build leadership and equip youth with vital skills,' the minister said, adding that this year's edition will feature a wider range of programs focused on both personal and professional growth. The 2025 camps, he noted, will offer 'advanced and qualitative content,' including vocational and technical training, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, gaming, political empowerment, and scouting. Other themes include artificial intelligence, robotics, e-commerce, and climate change awareness, along with sessions on intellectual property and peace-building. A highlight of the opening ceremony was the launch of the third edition of the Al Hussein bin Abdullah II Award for Volunteer Work, which Shdeifat said reflects the Crown Prince's vision of fostering a culture of volunteering among youth. Registration for the award is now open online. The Ministry of Youth is overseeing both overnight and day camps this summer, involving 8,508 participants across the Kingdom. The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with various government institutions, civil society organizations, and private sector partners. Activities will run through August 30 and are designed to promote youth engagement in Jordan's sustainable development journey, offering them opportunities to strengthen life skills, expand their civic participation, and prepare for future leadership roles.
