Revanth outlines TG's vision for $2.4-trn GSDP by 2047

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has on Saturday outlined Telangana's vision to emerge as a $2.4-trillion economy by the year 2047 when India will celebrate its centenary year of Independence Addressing the 10th NITI Aayog Governing Council Meeting in New Delhi, the Chief Minister, while explaining about his government's Telangana Rising 2047 vision, said: 'Telangana envisions itself as a 'Viksit Rajya' (developed state), contributing eight per cent to the national GDP by 2047 which translates to a targeted Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of $2.4 trillion'. Telangana is undertaking visionary urban projects, including expansion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail network, the Musi River Rejuvenation Project, elevated expressways, and the Regional Ring Road, which will shape the state's future, he added. These initiatives aim to enhance connectivity, promote sustainable mobility, and unlock new zones of economic growth. The development of Telangana's Net-Zero Future City will set new benchmarks in sustainable urban design, he added. Stressing on 'Nation First- People First' policy, he said that Telangana Rising 2047 vision can't be implemented without the Centre's support. Urging Modi to support Telangana for its comprehensive development, Reddy said: 'The spirit of cooperative federalism must guide our journey. States are not only laboratories of innovation but also the engines of national growth. Telangana is proud to be a strong contributor to India's GDP and a leader in industrial, technological, and governance reform'. The Chief Minister said that the state has attracted a whopping investment of Rs three lakh crore in 18 months of his government. He said that efforts were being made to develop Telangana as a one trillion-dollar economy soon. Further, the Chief Minister proposed a national-level task force, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with Chief Ministers of the six fast-developing States as members to focus on comprehensive urban development, infrastructure and investment and governance reforms in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and Delhi. Affirming that a single hand can't clap, he said that the goals set for Viksit Bharat can be realised only if the Centre extends support to States in true spirit of cooperative federalism. He said: 'These cities together accounting for a major share of India's urban GDP, serve as critical engines of economic growth, innovation, and job creation'. Despite its small size, Hyderabad is already contributing handsomely to the national GDP, he added. These mega-cities are not just economic centres but hubs of talent, investment, and technological advancement. A dedicated and coordinated strategy for these cities will help catalyse national economic momentum, generate millions of jobs, and elevate India's position in the global urban economy, the Chief Minister said.

Revanth seeks nat'l task force for devpt of 6 metros

1 2 Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy Saturday asked for the setting up of a national-level task force led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with chief ministers of Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana as members. He said the proposed task force should focus on comprehensive development of India's six major metropolitan cities—Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, and Hyderabad, infrastructure investment, and governance reforms tailored specifically to the needs of these urban growth engines. Presenting the 'TelanganaRising 2047' roadmap at the NITI Aayog governing council meeting in Delhi, chaired by PM Modi, Revanth called for fair and liberal central assistance for key projects in Telangana. "Only through a genuine spirit of cooperative federalism can India aspire to become a $30 trillion economy by the time it marks 100 years of Independence in 2047," he said. Revanth underscored the strategic importance of India's leading metros in shaping national economic momentum. He pointed out that cities like Mumbai and Delhi contribute ₹25.8 lakh crore and ₹24.5 lakh crore respectively to the economy. Hyderabad, though smaller in size, already contributes nearly 2.5% of India's GDP, and has emerged as a hub for investment, innovation, and talent. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trade Bitcoin & Ethereum – No Wallet Needed! Vision for Telangana The CM outlined an ambitious vision for Telangana—to become one of the first Indian states to reach a gross state domestic product (GSDP) of $1 trillion. While national estimates place this milestone within a 15-year horizon, Telangana aims to achieve it within a decade. "We are committed to accelerating our development journey. States are not only laboratories of innovation but also engines of national growth. The central govt's support is essential to unlock this potential," Revanth said. He detailed key projects already underway in Telangana, including expansion of Hyderabad Metro Rail, development of Bharat Future City, Musi river rejuvenation, Regional Ring Road and radial roads, major industrial investments, and programmes focused on the empowerment of women, farmers, and youth. Quoting a proverb, 'One hand alone cannot clap,' Revanth reiterated the need for Centre-State partnership in delivering on transformative goals. National security Revanth condemned the recent Pakistan-sponsored terrorist attack in Pahalgam, extending Telangana's full support to the Centre in its fight against cross-border terrorism. He also highlighted Telangana's progressive steps toward social justice, including a comprehensive caste survey and the passage of two bills extending 42% reservation for BCs in education, employment, and local governance. He said this initiative had inspired the Centre to explore a similar exercise nationwide, and offered Telangana's support in sharing its methodology for a national caste census. Revanth reaffirmed Telangana's commitment to the national goal of a Viksit Bharat—developed India—by 2047. He said the state envisions contributing 8% to India's GDP by then, which would mean a GSDP of $2.4 trillion, positioning Telangana as a major driver of India's growth story. After the meeting, he posted on X: "Attended NITI Aayog meeting. Viksit Bharat 2047 can be realised only through the development of states. #TelanganaRising2047 is a significant part, and the Centre must support it fully in the spirit of India First, People First."

Hyderabad Metro Rail New Fares to Come Into Effect from Today

The Hyderabad Metro Rail management has announced a revision in ticket prices that will take effect today. According to the new fare structure, the minimum ticket price has been set at Rs. 11, while the maximum fare will be Rs. 69. Initially, the fares were proposed to rise to Rs. 12 for the minimum and Rs. 75 for the maximum. However, following significant opposition from passengers, the management reconsidered its decision. In an effort to alleviate the financial impact on commuters, the management has introduced a 10 percent discount on the increased fares. This discount will vary depending on the method of ticket purchase, with special provisions for those using smart cards, tokens, and mobile apps. Metro officials have expressed their commitment to making services more accessible to all passengers during this transition. The revised fares were determined considering various factors, including passenger congestion, ticket sales, and overall travel experience. Officials indicated that the aim of these adjustments is to encourage a greater number of passengers to utilise metro services while ensuring the provision of these services with appropriate precautions in mind.
