Hyderabadi community iftar at Clock Tower on March 14
Muscat – The Deccani Wing of Indian Social Club Oman is set to host its annual Hyderabadi Community Iftar on Friday at Ruwi Clock Tower in CBD, Muscat.
Now in its third decade, the event brings together over 5,000 people from various nationalities to celebrate the spirit of Ramadan.
'More than just a meal, the community iftar is a symbol of unity, cultural exchange and generosity, reflecting the deeply rooted Islamic values of hospitality and compassion,' said Suhail Khan, head of the event's organising committee.
The iftar provides an opportunity for people of different backgrounds to connect, share and strengthen communal bonds during the holy month. A key highlight of the gathering is a congregational prayer, where attendees unite to pray for peace, harmony and brotherhood.
'This collective moment of spirituality reinforces the essence of Ramadan – reflection, gratitude and service to others,' Khan added.
The Hyderabadi community in Oman takes immense pride in organising the event, viewing it as an opportunity to give back to society. Volunteers from diverse backgrounds work tirelessly to ensure the iftar runs smoothly, making it a true community-driven initiative.
'For over two decades, this event has brought people from different backgrounds together in the spirit of Ramadan, fostering friendships and strengthening cultural bonds. It is a moment of reflection, gratitude and service to the community – values that define the essence of the Hyderabadi ethos,' Khan said.
This year's event promises to be a remarkable experience, continuing its legacy of togetherness and goodwill.
