HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) – Friends and family gathered in Hadley Saturday afternoon for the second annual 'Bands for Brittney' fundraiser.

Throughout the day, guests at The Club & Pavilion enjoyed live bands playing music and raffles. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research while supporting families who have lost a loved one to the disease.
The mother of the girl who lost her life to pediatric cancer told 22News the importance of honoring her memory through song and dance.
'Music was a big thing for Brittney, it was her passion,' said Elena Bliss, Brittney's mom. 'She loved to dance in our kitchen, so there was no better way to run an event that incorporated music, and we have dance schools that are coming that are going to be performing. So it is just an incredible day to honor her and raise awareness in the community for childhood cancer.'
Hyundai Hope on Wheels worked with Gary Rome Hyundai to put the event together. Last year, the fundraiser raised $25,000, with $10,000 going to pediatric cancer research and the rest staying local to help families in their fight.
