Hyundai Motor India receives GST order of Rs 517.34 crore for alleged short payment on SUVs

According to the company's regulatory filing under Regulation 30 of SEBI LODR, the order pertains to an alleged short payment of GST Compensation Cess on certain SUV models sold between September 2017 and March 2020. The order was received via email on 21 July 2025 at 6:40 PM, from the Office of the Commissioner of GST & Central Excise (Appeals – II), Tamil Nadu. There is a petrol-CNG option on offer as well. This engine is available with transmission options like a five-speed manual gearbox and an AMT. The engine pumps out 81 bhp peak power at 6,000 rpm and 113.8 Nm of maximum torque at 8,000 rpm. The new trim level sees no mechanical changes with it being powered by the same 1.2 L naturally aspirated petrol engine mated to an AMT gearbox.
