Gary Lineker 'lands huge deal to host new ITV show' after controversial BBC exit The former Match of the Day presenter is set to return to our screens after leaving the BBC Gary Lineker (Image: Getty) Gary Lineker is reportedly making a high-profile return to Saturday night television, having signed a major deal with ITV to host a brand-new celebrity game show called The Box. The 64-year-old former Match of the Day presenter, who left the BBC earlier this year following controversy over a social media post, is said to be fronting the UK version of the hit Norwegian format. The show is being pitched as a spiritual successor to Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway. According to The Sun, The Box will feature 12 celebrities, each placed in separate boxes where they must complete a series of terrifying challenges. The show is being described as a cross between I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and SAS: Who Dares Wins. A source told the publication: 'The Box is massive in Norway, and the rights were quickly snapped up in Denmark and now the UK. "ITV are really excited about it — they believe they've finally found a worthy successor to Saturday Night Takeaway. Article continues below "They have long been keen to work with Gary and just needed the right format. They're confident this is it. The BBC's loss is ITV's gain.' Filming is expected to begin in the autumn, with the series scheduled to air in early spring 2026, most likely in a primetime Saturday evening slot. Lineker has yet to publicly comment on the reports, and ITV has also been approached for confirmation. The move follows Lineker's emotional departure from the BBC in May, where he ended his 25-year tenure on Match of the Day amid an antisemitism row. The former England striker had posted a pro-Palestinian video on Instagram that included a rat emoji, prompting criticism and accusations of promoting a harmful trope. Lineker later apologised, saying he was unaware of the symbol's connotations and added: 'I would never consciously repost anything anti-Semitic – it goes against everything I stand for." Article continues below His final broadcast for the BBC featured a tribute montage and a visibly emotional farewell, during which Lineker said: 'It's been an absolute privilege to host Match of the Day for a quarter of a century. It's been utterly joyous. "Thank you for all your love and support over the years.' The move to ITV marks a new chapter for Lineker, who is now set to bring his trademark presenting style to a very different type of television experience.

Rochelle Humes has shared photos on holiday with Myleene Klass' ex-husband Graham Quinn days after the star accused him of cheating. Last week I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! star Myleene, 47, revealed that she once caught her ex about to have sex with a celebrity on her birthday. The TV presenter shares two daughters with the Irish bodyguard, whom she was married to for just six months, splitting after a decade together. However, when speaking about their relationship during a recent podcast interview, Myleene revealed that she once caught him about to sleep with a 'famous person' while in her own home for her birthday. A few days on, The Saturdays star Rochelle has posted snaps on holiday to Ibiza with husband Marvin Humes, 40. During the trip to celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary, the couple were joined by friends, including Graham, 47. In one photo Marvin was photographed smiling at a table in a restaurant, posing with Graham and two other friends. Captioning the post, which also included a string of photos of the group of friends partying and relaxing by the pool, Rochelle wrote: '72 hours in Ibiza…sun, sea, belly laughing, questionable dance moves and spicy margs that tasted better than our decisions. Our annual non-negotiable child free trip with old friends who remind you who you are. Sore heads all round today but ironically my battery feels recharged! Just what I needed. Happy 13 my love @marvinhumes. What a way to celebrate.' Graham is an old friend of Marvin's and used to manage his band JLS after they placed second on The X Factor in 2008. During her interview with Paul Brunson on the We Need To Talk podcast, Myleene spoke about walking in on her husband in an intimate moment with 'a famous person'. She described how the pair were taking off each other's clothes and immediately tried to claim that it wasn't what it looked like. 'I'm in my house, it's my party. They weren't having sex, but they were unzipping each other,' she explained before adding the pair tried to downplay what she'd seen. In shock, Myleene said she then 'kicked everyone out of the party, including his mum and dad'. 'They went back to Ireland and his dad said: 'He doesn't get it from me'. 'I was like 'Ok'. I remember thinking that was quite a weird thing to say.' Myleene, who is now married to PR guru Simon Motson, said that Graham later blamed the 'drink'. Although she refused to name the woman involved, Myleene said that 'for a long time it was very difficult to see their life'. 'My life literally just broke apart very, very publicly. And their life, they've managed to continue building a family brand on it and it felt so difficult for a long time.' Myleene and Graham met in 2001 when he was the bodyguard for her band Hear'Say. They welcomed daughter Ava in 2007 and Hero in 2011. The same year the couple got married but split soon after. Myleene has said that for 12 years she raised her children as a single parent, emotionally and financially. Graham has lived out of the spotlight since his split from Myleene, however in 2020 he posted a lengthy statement on Twitter calling out his ex-wife and claiming he had been blocked from seeing their daughters for seven years. 'The breakdown of our relationship should have never been in the public eye…we simply grew apart and neither of us was happy.' The long‑time friends, who first met in the late 1990s and became close after appearing together on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2004, are currently preparing for a nationwide tour this autumn. While promoting the show, they reflected on their years in reality television and whether they might return to the jungle. It comes after Katie confessed that she has to use google maps to remind herself of her children's birthdays. Katie, 47, said: 'Oh they'd never ask me. I didn't win it or anything. I mean, if I got offered the jungle, I doubt I would because I've done it twice. But if I did, it's the best show to do, I think.' Kerry, 43, who won I'm A Celebrity in 2004, said she would be open to going back. 'I'd do it. Again, it's another adventure. I love the jungle,' she said. Katie added: 'That's what I mean - it is a good show.' The pair joked that between them, they have ticked off nearly every major reality format. 'Both me and Kate have done every reality show,' Kerry said. 'We're the reality queens. We're part of TV history. When we did I'm A Celebrity, the ratings were the highest they'd ever had, and we were a part of that." However, there is one they haven't attempted and that's BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. Kerry said: 'The only one we've not done is Strictly.' 'They would never have us,' Katie replied. 'They're too snobby - Strictly for us.' Despite that, both admitted they would like the chance. 'I would love to do Strictly, I'm not going to lie,' Katie said. To which Kerry agreed: 'I would love to do Strictly.' Katie then teased her friend: 'But you can actually dance, so you'd be good at it.' Kerry recalled her time on Dancing on Ice, calling it 'a great adventure' and 'a great memory', but Strictly remains an unfulfilled ambition. The pair's upcoming tour, An Evening with Katie Price and Kerry Katona, will take them to 33 dates across the UK this autumn. The idea came after the success of their double act as Cinderella's stepsisters in an adult pantomime. The tour will see the two share stories from their careers, answer audience questions and offer fans an unfiltered look into their lives after decades in the public eye.

She appeared on I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in 2009, finishing as runner-up to Gino D'Acampo. In 2010, she participated in Celebrity Come Dine With Me, and in 2011, she joined the Big Brother spin-off series. In 2017, Kim made headlines again by entering Celebrity Big Brother as a housemate, where she finished third. She also made regular appearances on ITV's Loose Women and This Morning. Kim was never shy about sharing her life's hardships. In her 2006 autobiography Unbeaten: The Story of My Brutal Childhood, she revealed she was sexually abused by her father and had a deeply troubled relationship with her parents.
