Temporary on-ramp closure coming to Town of Campbell
COOPERS PLAINS, N.Y. (WETM) — People traveling to Coopers Plains on Tuesday may want to figure out a different route. The New York Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) announced that the on-ramp at the Coopers Plains exit will be temporarily closed due to work being done on the bridge. On Tuesday, May 27, NYSDOT explained, the Interstate 86 westbound on-ramp at Exit 42 (Cooper Plains) located in the Hamlet of Cooper Plains in the Town of Campbell will be closed to all traffic so crews can work on repairing the bridge. The closure is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, NYSDOT said, and is expected to run through mid-afternoon, with things wrapped up by the end of the day. I-86 bridge work to cause lane reductions in City of Corning
CORNING, N.Y. (WETM) — Starting Monday, May 12, drivers in Corning should expect some travel delays on Interstate 86. According to the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), there will be off-and-on lane reductions on the bridge that carries I-86 over the Norfolk Southern Railway's Southern Tier Line in the City of Corning. Bridge & road closures coming to Town of Canisteo in May NYSDOT announced in a release that the impacted area is just west of Exit 48 (State Route 352). The release explained that people also may know it as the 'Icicle Bridge.' NYSDOT said both eastbound and westbound passing lanes will be affected while crews work along the shoulders and median. This project work should wrap up by the end of June, the release stated. The release further explained that nighttime repair work is also scheduled over four weekends in July and August, and NYSDOT plans to keep the public updated as that work gets closer. City of Hornell issues spring mowing season reminder In the meantime, NYSDOT said to expect possible travel delays and consider alternate routes if you're passing through the area. As always, weather can shift the schedule, the release stated that things may change depending on conditions. NYSDOT is reminding drivers to slow down and stay alert in work zones.
