(PTI Photo) The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 , hosted in Pakistan and UAE, has achieved unprecedented viewership with 368 billion global viewing minutes, marking a 19% increase from the 2017 tournament. The event, which saw India defeat New Zealand in the final in Dubai, became the most-watched Champions Trophy match in history, with the final drawing 65.3 billion live viewing minutes globally. The tournament set a new record with 308 million global viewing minutes per over, the highest for any ICC event. In India, the final ranked as the third most-watched ICC match ever, following only the India vs New Zealand semi-final and India vs Australia final from the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. The coverage in India through the JioStar network spanned 29 channels and nine languages, featuring Indian Sign Language feed and Audio Descriptive Commentary. The tournament achieved the highest proportion of digital viewership for any ICC tournament in India, with the vertical MaxView feed enhancing mobile viewing experience. Australia witnessed its highest Champions Trophy viewership, with overall viewing hours increasing by 65% compared to 2017. Amazon Prime Video , which introduced Hindi language coverage, recorded its highest viewership for any ICC event on the platform. The United States market showed significant growth with a 38% increase in watch time despite unfavourable match timings. Pakistan, despite not retaining their title, saw viewing hours rise by 24% compared to their victorious 2017 campaign. Pakistani cricketer Imam-ul-Haq has received his Dubai visa and is set to travel today to join Pakistan's squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, sources confirmed. According to reports, Imam will depart for Dubai on AirBlue flight PA410 at 1 PM. PCB confirmed that the squad had traveled to Dubai on Thursday. The left-handed batsman arrived in Lahore from Karachi last night and will now link up with the team ahead of their crucial clash against India. Imam was included in the squad as a replacement for Fakhar Zaman. The 28-year-old last played an ODI for Pakistan against South Africa during the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. In 72 ODIs, he has accumulated 3,138 runs at an average of 48.27, with nine centuries and 20 half-centuries. His last international appearance came in the Boxing Day Test against Australia in December 2023 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Meanwhile, the Pakistan squad will hold a training session in Dubai today in preparation for their second match of the tournament against India on February 23 at the Dubai International Stadium. Pakistan, the defending champions and hosts, began their campaign with a 60-run defeat against New Zealand. After facing India, they will return home to play Bangladesh in Rawalpindi on February 27.
