Bubba's 33 hosts fundraiser for Flight 5342
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichitans were able to help the families of those who died on Flight 5342 by dining out Thursday evening. Bubba's 33 is donating 20% of diners' tabs to the ICT Together Fund for all customers who mentioned the fundraiser. Kansas families share grief with those from around the globe at lives lost in plane crash A Bubba's regular told KSN that he's not surprised the restaurant is stepping up for those in need. 'Bubba's is a great place to come. Their food and staff are excellent. They're just really active in working for these types of events. This has been a very good one for Bubba's to take care of,' said Bubba's regular Andy Wells. And it wasn't just diners contributing to the victims' families. Wichita airport sets up memorial for DC plane crash victims
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower Airport set up a memorial for the 64 victims lost on an American Airlines flight that crashed before landing at Ronald Reagan National Airport on Wednesday. The flight left Wichita late Wednesday afternoon. A table set up next to the escalators in the airport is filled with flowers, sticky notes, and markers for people to leave messages. A Wichita woman checking in at the airport for her flight on Friday morning told KSN News that she hopes the memorial comforts families. 'Hopefully, it will be shown to the families that we do care, in a situation like that, support, love, prayer,' Teresa Haeel, traveler, said. 'My biggest hope is that they are all surrounded by people who love them and who are praying for them.' ICT Together fund will help crash victims' families
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Wichita Foundation has started a fund to provide aid to help families of the American Airlines crash victims. The ICT Together fund will also support local efforts, such as grief counseling and mental health services. 'Our hearts go out to those on board Flight 5342 from Wichita, Kansas to Washington, D.C. last night, as well as the crew of the helicopter involved in the tragic collision,' the Wichita Foundation said in a news release. 'Wichita is strongest when we come together – ICT Together is one way we can support our neighbors in need.' The fund will be used for: Crisis support – Aid for impacted families, Community aid – Resources for first responders, local nonprofits, and organizations aiding in community aid efforts, and Healing and resilience – Support for mental health services, grief counseling, and community aid efforts.
