The highlight of DEA 2025 will be the Premier's Digital Economy Award, to be conferred on the most outstanding winner among these seven categories. – Bernama photo KUCHING (July 24): The Sarawak Digital Economy Awards (DEA) is back this year, taking place in conjunction with the 8th International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS) 2025. The award categories for DEA 2025 are the Digital Technology Transformation Award; Research & Development and Commercialisation Award; Entrepreneurship and Startup Award; Digital Government Award; Digital Creative Content Award; Environmental Sustainability Award; and Digital Leadership Award. The highlight of DEA 2025 will be the Premier's Digital Economy Award, to be conferred on the most outstanding winner among these seven categories. This is where the winners from the seven award categories will be further evaluated for their strategic deliverable strategy, leadership in digital transformation, development of the ecosystem, capacity and capability building, as well as the creation of value for their organisations. 'DEA 2025 promises to celebrate digital innovation, collaboration, and progress, providing a platform for visionaries, pioneers, and innovators to inspire, collaborate, and pave the way for a digitally advanced Sarawak. 'The event serves as a dynamic platform where global leaders, innovators, and stakeholders come together to explore the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in promoting green evolution. 'At the core of this theme is a deep commitment to leveraging artificial intelligence to address complex challenges to establishing and sustaining the green evolution among stakeholders and communities.' The organisers said through engaging discussions and thought-provoking sessions, IDECS 2025 aims to chart a course towards a more sustainable and resilient future, driven by the transformative potential of AI. IDECS, spearheaded by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg , has been instrumental in Sarawak's digital transformation journey. Since its inception, it has evolved into a globally recognised platform, catalysing major state initiatives such as the Development Bank of Sarawak , Sarawak Multimedia Authority, and Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation.
