Scissor Sisters fans distracted as A-list guest 'blows roof off' at reunion gig
Scissor Sisters' recent show at The O2 Arena in London left fans thrilled after an unlikely Hollywood star made an appearance on stage, as did a musician who recently released her own album A familiar face from the silver screen 'blew the roof off' of The O2 in London during Scissor Sisters' reunion gig on Friday (May 23). The American pop group behind hits like I Can't Decide and I Don't Feel Like Dancin' has recently reformed and are playing a series of shows across the UK. Their performance last night had fans screaming as the show featured an unlikely cameo appearance, and those who attended the concert have since shared footage showing the Hollywood legend unexpectedly appearing on screens around the arena. As the band performed, the room went dark with strobe lights filling the arena. When the lights came back on, fans were taken aback to see Sir Ian McKellen – the acclaimed actor known for his work in X-Men, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Flushed Away – at the microphone during a rendition of the hit song, Invisible Light. During his brief appearance, he read out the monologue he performed on the recorded version of the track. The 85-year-old's appearance was met with rapturous applause from the attending public, with one user sharing footage of McKellen's performance to the crowd. They wrote on X: "A concert cameo like no other. Sir Ian McKellen has blown The O2 roof off at The Scissor Sisters' 21st anniversary tour." That wasn't the only celebrity appearance at the New York trio's concert last night. Rebecca Lucy Taylor, who performs under the stage name Self Esteem, also took to the stage and danced as the band played Take Your Mama. Self Esteem's album, A Complicated Woman, was released earlier this year. One fan who attended the show wrote: "Absolute mayhem as Sir Ian McKellen does a dramatic reading of his lines from Invisible Light, one of my favourite Scissor Sisters songs of all time. Cried a little, just so blessed to see this." Another excited fan wrote: " WHAT DO YOU MEAN SIR IAN MCKELLEN WENT ON STAGE WITH THE SCISSOR SISTERS LAST NIGHT?!" Other fans who attended the show were remaining hopeful of new music from the band, with some saying a "haunting" version of a hit song could suggest new material is on the way. One X user wrote: "A quiet, haunting version of Mary by the Scissor Sisters At the O2, London. What a night, what a show and I hope this means we're blessed with new music soon." These performances are among Scissor Sisters' first since they went on hiatus in 2012. The band briefly returned in 2017 for the charity record Swerlk, and in 2019 the group topped the Billboard dance charts with Let's Have a Kiki. Vocalist Jake Shears says hitting the top of the charts in the US was a huge moment for the band. In 2019, he said: "When that song came out and did what it did [hitting #1 on the Billboard dance charts], I was just like, 'Well, there it is, I guess we did it." But the group has since returned, with Shears, Babydaddy, Del Marquis, and Randy Real touring the UK. Ana Matronic has not returned after the band confirmed it "didn't line up" for her to be a part of this year's tour. The band have already played Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena, Glasgow's OVO Hydro, the International Centre in Bournemouth, Cardiff's Utilita Arena and Manchester's Co-op Live in addition to their most recent London show. They have yet to play the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, the SSE Arena in Belfast and 3Arena in Dublin.

At the time, Hudson revealed that she hasn't fully shut down the idea of welcoming a fourth, or more, kids into her family. "I could have so many kids," the Running Point star told Kelce, 33. "I even think about it right now. I'm like, 'Am I totally done?' Because I just can't imagine being done." "It's a weird thing to think like, 'Oh, no. I'm done having kids,' when you love having kids," she continued. "It gets a little scarier when you start to watch them, [and] when you start to have to let them go because you want them to love themselves, and then you want them to make good decisions out in the world." Added Hudson, "So, you get a little bit of that, 'Oh, man. I just hope they are good.' " Read the original article on People

Nicola Coughlan ‘disgusted' by gender court ruling as she commits to fundraiser
Irish actress Nicola Coughlan has said she is 'completely horrified' and 'disgusted' by the Supreme Court ruling on gender and will fundraise for a transgender charity. The Bridgerton and Barbie star, 38, who has long been outspoken out on LGBT+ issues, said she would match donations up to £10,000 to trans charity Not A Phase. On Wednesday, the Supreme Court ruled that the terms woman and sex in the 2010 Equality Act 'refer to a biological woman and biological sex', meaning transgender women with a gender recognition certificate (GRC) can be excluded from single-sex spaces if 'proportionate'. The judges said trans people are still protected from discrimination under equalities legislation, and that this interpretation of the law does not cause disadvantage to the 'potentially vulnerable group'. In an Instagram video, Coughlan said she was 'completely horrified by the Supreme Court's ruling'. 'To see an already marginalised community being further attacked, and attacked in law, is stomach-churning and disgusting, and to see people celebrate it is more stomach-churning and disgusting,' she said. Coughlan committed to matching donations of up to £10,000 to the 'incredible' charity Not A Phase, which says it works to uplift and improve the lives of trans adults. 'Now's the time to speak up and make your voice heard,' she said. 'Let your trans, non-binary friends and the community at large know that you're there for them and will keep fighting for them.' It comes as Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears posted a video on Instagram, saying the band has 'full solidarity with our trans friends, family and community'. 'This decision is deeply upsetting, and we recognise the pain and fear it causes,' the I Don't Feel Like Dancin' singer added. Shears also said the pop group is a 'partner with Not A Phase for our upcoming UK tour'. The Supreme Court decision was hailed as a victory by women's rights campaigners, but LGBT charity Stonewall described the judgment as 'incredibly worrying for the trans community'. Following the announcement, Not A Phase said: 'Whether trans people are included or excluded in the Government's legislation, our existence can never be taken from us.' Coughlan, a long-time fan of drag, has appeared as a judge on RuPaul's Drag Race UK. She received a Bafta TV nod this year for her role in Channel 4's Big Mood for female performance in a comedy. She is also known for playing the lovelorn Penelope Featherington on Netflix regency hit Bridgerton, and panicky student Clare Devlin on Channel 4 comedy Derry Girls.
