Nature Homes & Spaces Brings Green Building To The Forefront Of Residential Development
New Delhi [India], May 28: With growing urbanisation and rising climate concerns, green building is the need of the hour. Across India, the push for sustainable real estate is gaining momentum, and in Rajasthan, one developer is leading that shift from the ground up. Established in 2021, Nature Homes & Spaces is part of a new wave of real estate companies focused on environmentally responsible construction. With IGBC-certified buildings already in its portfolio, Nature Homes & Spaces is positioning itself as a committed player in the green housing space where it is combining sustainability, livability, and long-term value. IGBC Certification is more than a label The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) certification has become the gold standard for sustainable construction in India. It reflects a project's commitment to reducing its environmental footprint, conserving natural resources, and promoting occupant health. Nature Homes & Spaces integrates these principles deeply into its development process. Its certified projects, Nature Amaltas and Nature Gulmohar are designed with sustainability in mind and will be an IGBC-certified green building. The development offers airy, sunlit spaces with wide balconies and sweeping 180-degree views—blending comfort with environmental sensitivity. The project incorporates energy-saving design principles throughout, ensuring a responsible living experience that minimizes dependence on artificial lighting and cooling systems. The development focuses on long-term ecological balance. Rainwater harvesting systems have been built to recharge the groundwater table, while solid waste management protocols support segregation and composting. Topsoil is carefully conserved during site preparation, and reflective glass is used to regulate indoor temperatures more efficiently. In common areas, solar energy is utilised alongside energy-efficient LED lighting—lowering maintenance costs while reducing the overall carbon footprint. More than 70 percent of the site is dedicated to green and open spaces, providing natural cooling and encouraging biodiversity. Every element is designed to create homes that not only meet today's needs but also preserve tomorrow's resources. Designed for a healthier life Nature Homes & Spaces approach goes beyond checklists. Its developments are built with the end-user in mind with spacious layouts, ample natural light, and clean air circulation are key aspects of its planning. The focus is on reducing reliance on artificial systems and reconnecting people with open spaces and nature within a city setting. 'Green buildings are often seen as niche or luxury, but we believe they must become the standard,' says Atul Arora, CEO of Nature Homes & Spaces. 'Our projects are proof that sustainability can be seamlessly built into everyday living — without compromising on comfort or aesthetics.' Growing market, growing responsibility With a new generation of homebuyers becoming more environment-conscious, the demand for sustainable homes is expected to rise sharply. Real estate developers are now being evaluated not just on square footage and finishes, but on their values and future-readiness. By investing in IGBC-certified projects and sustainable technologies from the outset, the real estate developer is setting a precedent in the Jaipur region. Its developments are proof that responsible building is not a limitation, but a competitive advantage. Green Building is the future of real estate As India marches toward its climate goals and urban centres continue to expand, the onus is on real estate developers to lead with responsibility. Nature Homes & Spaces' early investment in green building, coupled with a focus on thoughtful design, positions it as a future-forward developer in an industry ready for change. In a sector where differentiation often comes from branding or amenities, Nature Homes & Spaces stands apart by letting its buildings speak for themselves — clean, green, and built to last.

Sustainable Luxury: The Rising Demand for Eco-Friendly Homes in India
Sustainability and green building practices have become essential pillars of the real estate industry. With growing environmental awareness, homebuyers are increasingly prioritizing eco-friendly living, prompting developers to lead the transition toward sustainable construction. This shift reflects a broader trend where luxury is no longer just about grandeur but also about sustainability, wellness, and long-term value. By integrating resource-efficient materials, energy-saving technologies, and environmentally responsible designs, developers are not only minimizing ecological impact but also enhancing the well-being of residents. SKA Group redefines luxury with IGBC-certified green homes rooted in sustainability and innovation A joint report by Resurgent India and NAREDCO projects substantial growth in Indias green buildings market, expected to contribute USD 39 billion (Rs. 3.2 lakh crore) by 2025. This surge underscores the increasing focus on sustainable construction, with eco-friendly buildings gaining a greater share in new developments. Besides, sustainable luxury housing is gaining traction across key urban centers and emerging markets in India. The NCR region, including Gurugram, Noida, and Delhi, remains a prime hub for eco-friendly luxury developments. Developers in these cities are dedicated to crafting quality projects, each underscoring their environmental stewardship and social responsibility. With sustainability as their core philosophy, the projects boast numerous features, driving the green building revolution. Among the leaders driving this green revolution is SKA Group, with its unwavering commitment towards sustainable development. The group integrates eco-friendly practices in every aspect of its projects, making sustainability its core philosophy. SKA Green Arch in Sector 16B, Greater Noida West, is an IGBC Gold Pre-certified development, integrating resource reduction, recycling, and reuse principles, and embodying the Greenarch concept. The project features 8,241 sqm of green space, enhancing biodiversity and well-being. Other developments, including SKA Metroville and SKA Divya Towers, contribute 7,676 sqm and 5,803 sqm of green areas, respectively, underscoring SKA Group's commitment to eco-friendly living. Additionally, upcoming projects such as SKA Destiny One will introduce 13,675 sqm of green space, further enriching the environment. Water conservation is another priority for SKA Group. Over the last two years, the group has implemented advanced sewage treatment plants (STPs) and recycled and treated 454.22 million litres of water. This initiative has had a major impact on reducing freshwater consumption across its projects, ensuring water resources are used more efficiently and responsibly. In addition to water, energy, and green area developments, the group's commitment to environmental sustainability extends to oxygen generation through tree plantation. The group has generated 4,515 cubic meters of oxygen through tree-planting initiatives across its projects. These efforts not only improve air quality but also contribute to a greener, healthier living environment for residents. Moreover, the growing demand for sustainable luxury homes is driven by multiple factors. Eco-conscious buyers, particularly affluent homebuyers, are increasingly prioritizing green living and energy-efficient residences. Government policies and incentives, including green building regulations, tax benefits, and sustainability mandates, are further encouraging the adoption of eco-friendly construction. According to Savills report, 'Sustainable Real Estate: Strategies and Practices', in India, over 7,000 IGBC green-certified projects account for an estimated total built-up area of 1,370 million sq. ft. across various states. The data highlights the industrys commitment to reducing environmental impact and advancing sustainability in the sector. Within this growing movement, SKA Group curates IGBC Certified projects and promotes green living through eco-friendly materials that enhance both the developments sustainability and luxury. Their projects are well-equipped with initiatives such as sustainable construction practices, green building methods, waste reduction strategies, sewage treatment plants, rainwater harvesting, solar systems for basement lighting, and electric vehicle charging units, which reduce their carbon footprint while maximizing efficiency. Thus, the luxury housing landscape in India is undergoing a transformation as buyers increasingly prioritize sustainability alongside exclusivity and comfort. This evolving mindset is driving developers to integrate eco-friendly innovations, ensuring long-term environmental and economic benefits. In the coming years, sustainability will not just be an added feature but a defining element of premium housing, with green certifications, smart technology, and resource-efficient designs becoming standard. As awareness and regulations continue to strengthen, the future of luxury real estate will be shaped by a seamless blend of opulence and responsible living.

Green buildings in Nagpur to get up to 20% property tax rebate
NAGPUR : In a move to promote environmentally sustainable construction, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has decided to offer up to 20% rebate on property tax for buildings certified by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). Municipal commissioner Abhijeet Chaudhari issued an order to this effect on May 14. As part of its continuous efforts to tackle rising pollution and temperatures in the city, the NMC is encouraging the use of eco-friendly materials and energy-saving measures in new constructions. Green buildings , which consume less electricity and contribute less to the urban heat island effect, are being actively promoted. According to Chaudhari's order, buildings that obtain IGBC certification will be eligible for a rebate of up to 20% on their property tax. This incentive aligns with the budget provisions for the financial year 2025–26, where the commissioner proposed tax relief under Section 140(B) of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act to boost the green construction sector. To qualify for this rebate, a building must have features like rainwater harvesting, use of solar energy, wastewater recycling, and organic composting. An NMC resolution passed on March 28, 2025, already approved additional concessions for IGBC-certified properties. The revised structure of concessions includes Platinum Green Building Certification (additional 10% rebate, making it a total of 20% tax concession), Gold Certification (additional 7.5% rebate, totalling 17.5%), and Silver Certification (additional 5% rebate, totalling 15%). These additional benefits will be available on top of the existing 10% rebate already provided to properties implementing any of the four key eco-friendly systems. How to Apply: Property owners seeking rebate must apply to the Tax Department at the NMC headquarters or zonal offices Application must be accompanied by a valid Green Building Certificate issued by the IGBC
