The 41st edition of the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) is the biggest-ever edition of the renowned gem and jewellery B2B trade show, organised by India's apex trade body, the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC). With the theme ' Brilliant Bharat – Architecture of India ', IIJS Premiere 2025 aims to generate billions of dollars in export business, backed by several favourable policy developments such as the recently concluded India-UK Free Trade Agreement and the much-anticipated India-US bilateral trade agreement. Chief guest Rahul Narwekar, Speaker of the Maharashtra State Legislative Assembly, inaugurated the world's second-largest gem and jewellery B2B exhibition – IIJS Premiere 2025 – at the JIO World Convention Centre (JWCC) in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. GJEPC chairman Kirit Bhansali, vice chairman Shaunak Parikh, convener – National Exhibitions Nirav Bhansali, and executive director Sabyasachi Ray, along with members of the Committee of Administration (COA), welcomed several esteemed dignitaries and guests including Pavel Marynichev, CEO, ALROSA, and Ajoy Chawla, CEO – Jewellery Division (and incumbent MD), The Titan Company Ltd. The Select Club is being hosted at Jasmine Hall, 3rd Floor, JWCC, BKC, Mumbai. Speaking at the inauguration, Narwekar said: "The gem and jewellery business is very special to me, as it all began from Zaveri Bazaar, Dagina Bazaar and Dhanji Street, which are part of my Colaba constituency. IIJS, organised by GJEPC, reflects the remarkable growth and global success of India's gem and jewellery sector. The entire world now has its eyes on the Indian market, which is among the world's top four economies. With a large proportion of youth, India is one of the most promising and dynamic markets globally."

IIJS premiere 2025 leads with green goals, global connections, and industry innovation

MUMBAI: As the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) Premiere 2025 unfolds in Mumbai across the JIO World Convention Centre and NESCO, it's not just the sparkle of gems that's drawing attention—it's the green sheen of sustainability and the ambition of a billion-dollar industry stepping onto the global stage. The 41st edition of IIJS is the largest yet, with over 2,100 exhibitors and 3,600 stalls attracting 50,000+ visitors from across India and more than 80 countries. The five-day event is expected to drive ₹70,000 crore in business—underscoring the influence India's gem and jewellery sector now commands. Kirit Bhansali, Chairman, GJEPC, pointed to global opportunities unlocked by India's trade agreements: 'FTAs with the UAE and Australia have already delivered tangible benefits, and the recently concluded India–UK FTA is set to be a game-changer. This is a defining moment for Indian jewellers to think global and act bold.' Nirav Bhansali, Convener – National Exhibitions, stated, 'At IIJS, sustainability is not an afterthought—it's at the heart of our vision. From powering the show with 100% green energy to eliminating single-use materials and planting over 200,000 trees, we are redefining how global exhibitions can be both grand and green. ' Bhansali also revealed GJEPC's ambition to make IIJS completely carbon-neutral within the next decade. 'Our aim is to announce within a year a specific date by which IIJS will be completely carbon-neutral, possibly by 2030 or 2032. We are working with consultants to calculate our carbon footprint, including travel emissions.' For buyers and exhibitors alike, this year's show also expands experiential spaces and learning opportunities. The Innov8 Talks seminar series provides a platform for product launches and thought leadership sessions, targeted especially at young entrepreneurs and family jewellers seeking a less chaotic networking environment. Vice Chairman Shaunak Parikh underscored GJEPC's global push: 'At IIJS, we provide a robust platform, facilitating connections with over 15 international delegations and 3,000 international visitors. Initiatives like IJEX in Dubai have helped companies expand overseas, gaining confidence and market access.' Further adding to the glamour is the IIJS Celebration Night—an evening event that pays tribute to the legends of India's gem and jewellery industry. Also on the social calendar is the 'Jewellers for Hope' charity dinner, continuing the industry's tradition of giving back to society. The product spectrum on display at IIJS is diverse and cutting-edge: from diamond, gemstone and gold jewellery to lab-grown diamonds, couture pieces, silver artefacts, and even machinery and tech solutions for the jewellery manufacturing industry. Titan's Jewellery Division CEO, Ajoy Chawla, summed up the sector's evolving ethos: 'The entrepreneurial spirit and policy impetus have helped create and share a vibrant gem & jewellery sector. As we go forward, Indian jewellers have to leverage their cultural heritage and adopt sustainable practices. A strong regulatory framework will ensure world-class quality and customer experience.' With its scale, green ambitions, and international agenda, IIJS Premiere 2025 has become more than just a trade show—it's the pulse of an industry that's reinventing itself for the future. And if this edition is any indication, that future looks brilliant.
