IIT (BHU) launches incubation programme to fund and mentor tech startups with up to Rs 20 lakhs support
VARANASI: In a significant push towards fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, the I-DAPT Hub Foundation of IIT ( BHU ), Varanasi, announced the launch of its Startup Incubation Programme. The programme invites applications from tech startups focused on Data Analytics and Predictive Technologies (DAPT). Prof. Ram Sharan Singh, Project Director of I-DAPT Hub, said that the initiative is designed to support early-stage entrepreneurs in transforming their innovative ideas into successful business ventures. The programme offers access to critical resources, including office space, technical and legal support, market access, mentorship, and funding assistance of up to ₹20 lakhs. He further stated that startups eligible for this support must be incorporated in India with a core focus on DAPT technologies. Interested startups working on commercially viable products or services in the DAPT domain are encouraged to apply. Prof. Rajesh Kumar , Dean (Research & Development), said that this initiative is aligned with the national missions of Make in India, Viksit Bharat, and Atma Nirbhar Bharat. 'Our goal is to develop a vibrant startup ecosystem in this region that empowers technopreneurs to create scalable, impactful solutions,' he said. Prof. Amit Patra, Director, IIT (BHU), remarked, 'At IIT (BHU), we are committed to nurturing a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. IIT (BHU) hosts Japanese team to strengthen collaboration
1 2 Varanasi: Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi hosted two distinguished delegates from the Sakura Science Program headquarters, Japan—Takashi Konishi and Yuji Nishikawa—on Thursday, marking a significant step forward in strengthening academic and research collaboration between India and Japan. During their visit, the delegates toured some of the premier research facilities of the institute, including the Central Instrument Facility (CIF) and the Precision Engineering Hub. Prof Pralay Maiti and Santosh Kumar provided detailed insights into the advanced instrumentation and research infrastructure, showcasing the institute's capabilities in cutting-edge science and engineering research. Varanasi: An orientation and induction programme, 'Diksharambh', for the new entrants of IIT (BHU) was organised at Swatantrata Bhawan on Thursday to welcome the newly admitted undergraduate students. The event aimed to introduce the freshers to the academic environment, resources, and support systems of the institute, helping them embark on their educational journey with confidence and clarity. During the orientation, the students were briefed about the various academic and co-curricular activities offered at IIT (BHU), along with key institutional values and expectations. Addressing the event, IIT (BHU) director, Prof Amit Patra, said that IIT (BHU) offers all the resources and guidance necessary for the holistic development of the students. VARANASI: An orientation and induction programme, Diksharambh, was held at Swatantrata Bhawan on Thursday to welcome newly admitted undergraduate students of IIT ( BHU ). The programme aimed to familiarise freshers with the academic environment, resources, and support systems of the institute, helping them begin their educational journey with confidence and clarity. During the session, students were introduced to the various academic and co-curricular opportunities at IIT (BHU), as well as the institution's core values and expectations. Addressing the gathering, IIT (BHU) Director, Professor Amit Patra, emphasised the importance of selfless leadership and personal growth. 'The day you start helping others selflessly, you begin to become a true leader. And when people start loving you and turning to you for advice—that's when you will know you have truly earned your place and achieved success,' he said. Before the student session, the director and other institute officials held an interactive session with the parents of the new entrants. With help from tech institutes, UP to revive 75 small rivers
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh govt has initiated the process of breathing new life into 75 small and tributary rivers across the state through a well-coordinated and technology driven campaign. Acting on the directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a strategic plan was implemented with the collaboration of 10 key departments and leading technical institutions to ensure an effective and sustainable river rejuvenation programme. A divisional-level monitoring committee, headed by the respective divisional commissioner, was constituted to oversee the implementation and quality of the work. The revival effort is receiving technical expertise from premier institutes such as IIT Kanpur, IIT (BHU), IIT Roorkee and BBAU Lucknow, which are preparing river-specific plans based on detailed studies of geographical, ecological and social factors. The campaign, originally conceptualised in 2018 under the MGNREGA scheme, has now evolved into a structured and technologically driven exercise. Activities under the programme include stream cleaning, water channelling, rainwater harvesting and extensive plantation drives.
