Barzani Discusses Support for the Culture of Coexistence and Stability with the Head of the Iraqi Media Network

Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani discussed supporting the culture of coexistence and stability with the head of the Iraqi Media Network, Karim Hammadi, and a number of writers and authors.
A statement from Barzani's office, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said: "The head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party received, on Thursday, April 17, 2025, the head of the Iraqi Media Network, Karim Hammadi, and a number of Arab writers, authors, and intellectuals visiting the Kurdistan Region on the occasion of the opening of the 17th Erbil International Book Fair."
He added, "During the meeting, the visiting delegation praised President Barzani's historic role in the struggle of the people of Kurdistan and his support for the culture of coexistence and stability. The delegation also praised the values of hospitality, acceptance, and respect shown by the people of Kurdistan, describing them as a distinguished and outstanding model in the region."
Barzani warmly welcomed the visiting delegation and, according to the statement, gave them a historical overview of the struggle of the people of Kurdistan, the uprising, and its aftermath. He emphasized that "the success of the Kurdistan Region's experience is due to the people of Kurdistan's tolerance after the uprising, their refusal to seek revenge against those who held grudges against them, and their opening of a new page in their political journey."
Discussing the political situation in Iraq, Barzani emphasized the need for all parties to adhere to the principles of partnership, balance, and consensus within the framework of the constitution as a means of resolving problems.
The meeting also touched, according to the statement, on current issues in the region and the situation in Syria, with attendees raising a number of questions and making observations, which President Barzani answered.
