'Ask your paw paw ...': Congress mocks BJP's Sonia Gandhi voter row; calls it 'good photoshop'

Sonia Gandhi (File photo) NEW DELHI: The Congress on Thursday hit back at the BJP 's allegations that Sonia Gandhi 's "tryst with India's voters' list is riddled with glaring violations of electoral law". Taking a swipe at the saffron party, Congress directed its pointed attack, "Your photoshop is really good." In a sharper dig aimed at PM Modi, the party said, "Ask your paw paw nrndrmdi to give a better idea. " — INCKerala (@INCKerala) On X, Congress Kerala posted: "Your photoshop is really good, except for one mistake. The National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT) was constituted by the 69th Constitutional Amendment Act of 1991. It was Union Territory of Delhi in 1980. Ask your paw paw nrndrmdi to give a better idea." Meanwhile, another Opposition MP, this time from the Trinamool Congress , targeted Amit Malviya in a post on X: "BJP's IT cell coolie has posted a FORGED document. 'National Capital Territory of Delhi' was created on 2nd Jan, 1992. The document shared by this man is supposedly dated from the year 1980 when 'NCT of Delhi' didn't exist." TMC MP added, "Forgery is a crime punishable with 7 years imprisonment under Sec 336(3) of BNS. Does the vote-chor ECI have the guts to file an FIR against BJP's IT cell head for forging their document?" The remarks came after the BJP on Wednesday sought to turn the tables on Congress over its campaign against alleged "vote theft," accusing Sonia Gandhi of being enrolled twice as a voter without renouncing her Italian citizenship. "Sonia Gandhi's name entered the electoral rolls twice without meeting the basic citizenship requirement — first as an Italian citizen in 1980, and then again in 1983, months before she legally became a citizen of India. We are not even asking why it took her 15 years after marrying Rajiv Gandhi to accept Indian citizenship. If this isn't blatant electoral malpractice, what is?" said BJP IT department head Amit Malviya. On X, Malviya posted a copy of the electoral roll form from the official residence of then PM Indira Gandhi, claiming Sonia's name was added during the revision of rolls with January 1, 1980, as the qualifying date.

‘Hold My Chai': Congress Mocks Andhra Pradesh Bridge After Bhopal's 90-Degree Flyover Sparks Row

Last Updated: Congress Kerala posted on X with the caption, 'Bhopal made a 90° flyover. Andhra: 'Hold my chai.'' Days after a bizarre 90-degree turn on a Bhopal flyover sparked memes, Congress Kerala took a fresh dig- this time at a zigzagging stretch of highway in Andhra Pradesh. Sharing a Google Maps screenshot of a bridge on State Highway 57 near Vasudevapuram, the party posted on X with the caption: 'Bhopal made a 90° flyover. Andhra: 'Hold my chai.'" The post showed three sharp turns crammed into a single segment of road and quickly went viral with over seven lakh views. Social media users dubbed it 'Temple Run- Andhra version" and joked about its apparent absurdity, with one user calling it 'the work of Covid-time engineers." Bhopal made a 90° 'Hold my chai" — Congress Kerala (@INCKerala) June 16, 2025 This latest round of infrastructure trolling comes on the heels of a controversy in Madhya Pradesh over a newly built ₹18-crore railway overbridge near Aishbagh Stadium in Bhopal. The 648-metre-long bridge stunned commuters with a near-90-degree bend right at the top, raising serious road safety concerns. Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Jitu Patwari slammed the project, saying, 'The government should get up before it becomes a death ground." While the online banter has been light-hearted, the viral images have amplified concerns over poor infrastructure planning and a lack of basic safety logic in public works. Fact-Checking Photo Of Man Emerging From 'Patal Lok' On Lucknow E-way. Congress Shared It Too

Last Updated: National Highways Authority of India condemned the misleading claim by Congress and clarified that no such incident had taken place on Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway. Grok, a generative AI chatbot developed by xAI, on Friday fact-checked a post (now deleted) shared Congress' Kerala unit. The image shared on X (formerly Twitter) claimed a cave-in incident on the under-construction Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway. Congress Kerala shared the image on X and alleged that it is from the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway. 'A man came out of Paatal Lok to the surface of the earth through a hole in the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway," it stated in the now-deleted post, while adding that it was build by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari at a cost of Rs 75 crore per kilometer. Soon after, a person tagged Grok and asked whether the image was real or not. In reply to the post, Grok stated that the image is real, 'but not from the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway." 'The expressway, still under construction in May 2025, has no reported sinkholes. The post's claim seems misleading, though concerns about infrastructure quality are valid," it added. The image in the post is likely real but not from the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway. It appears to show a sinkhole in Lucknow's Vikas Nagar from March 2024, based on news reports. NHAI shared two images on X, with one of them being a screenshot of the INC Kerala post, while another highlighting the same image from an article post a cave-in incident on the Purvanchal Expressway. In its post, the authority condemned the misleading claim by the Opposition party and clarified that no such incident had taken place on the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway. 'NHAI strongly condemns the misleading post done by @INCKerala using old image of an incident on Purvanchal Expressway in Oct'22, claiming it to be on under-construction Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway. No such incident has happened on this Expressway & it is being monitored for quality," NHAI said. While it currently takes anywhere between 1.5-3 hours to reach from one side to another, this project will cut the travel time to 35-45 minutes. Notably, it has been specially design for future expansion to eight lanes and features elevated sections, underpasses and flyovers. 'Vikas overflowing': Congress taunts Centre over Delhi Airport canopy collapse amid rain- video

Congress taunts Centre over Delhi Airport canopy collapse amid rain NEW DELHI: A video showing rainwater overflowing from a canopy at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport after a heavy downpour has sparked a political row, with the Congress taking a direct swipe at the BJP government over infrastructure quality. The incident occurred early Sunday as the National Capital Region was battered by rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. The Kerala unit of the Congress shared the video on social media platform X, sarcastically commenting, "Vikas overflows in Delhi Airport after a drizzle." — INCKerala (@INCKerala) The video showed water collecting in the middle of a sloped canopy before eventually spilling over, soaking the surrounding area. In a separate post, the party criticised the waterlogging near Terminal 3 of IGI Airport that disrupted travel, saying, 'This G20 infra built at inflated cost joins the long list of crumbling 'Modi-quality' constructions.' As seen in the video, the canopy collapse happened due to the design's bowl-like structure, which allowed water to pool in the centre. As the pressure mounted, the tensile fabric failed to hold the accumulated water, leading to a dramatic overflow. As per ANI, the heavy rains led to the diversion of 49 flights, including 17 international flights, between 11:30 pm and 4 am. In a passenger advisory issued at 6:50 am, Delhi Airport said, 'Passengers are advised to check their flight status regularly and stay in touch with airline staff for updates.' A car was seen submerged at Minto Road, while traffic snarls were reported at several key junctions including Dhaula Kuan. The IMD had issued a red alert for Delhi and surrounding areas, predicting thunderstorms, lightning, and wind speeds up to 100 km/h. The incident comes nearly a year after a roof collapse at Terminal 1 of the Delhi Airport during similar weather conditions, which left one person dead and several injured. That episode had also led to flight disruptions and raised serious questions about infrastructure durability under extreme weather.
