Union Minister Amit Shah inaugurates cooperative complex in Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 28 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday inaugurated the newly constructed Cooperative Complex built by Adroda Mandali Cooperative Limited in Gujarat's Ahmedabad. Earlier on Friday, Union Minister Shah visited the Information and Library Network Centre (INFLIBNET) in Gandhinagar and conducted a review meeting for the development of libraries, calling the library a primary centre for learning about education, culture, and history. Shah also planted a sapling on the premises. In a post on X, Amit Shah said, 'The library is a primary centre for learning about education, culture, and history.' 'Today, I visited the Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) centre located in my Lok Sabha constituency, Gandhinagar, and reviewed the development of libraries. Through INFLIBNET, libraries are being continuously developed by integrating them with cutting-edge technologies, enabling them to also serve as support centres for curious children in the field of R&D. Additionally, the mobile app of 'Sastu Sahitya Vardhak Karyalaya' was launched. This app will prove to be very useful for book lovers in obtaining their favourite books,' he added. Amit Shah offered prayers at the over 400-year-old Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad on the occasion of Rath Yatra. He offered the 'mangala aarti' at 4 am and shared a heartfelt post on his official 'X' account, reflecting on his divine experience. 'On the sacred occasion of Rath Yatra, participating in the Mangla Aarti at Shri Jagannath Temple, Ahmedabad, is in itself a divine and extraordinary experience. Today, I joined the Mangla Aarti of Mahaprabhu and offered my prayers. May Mahaprabhu continue to bestow His blessings on all', Amit Shah's 'X' post read. The Union Minister also extended greetings to the nation on the occasion of the sacred Jagannath Rath Yatra, describing the festival as a 'unique confluence of faith and devotion.' 'Hail Jagannath! At Gandhinagar, Amit Shah reviews projects, directs officials to enhance scheme benefits
Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting in Gandhinagar, reviewing the progress of several developmental projects in the district, which he represents as the Lok Sabha MP. DISHA committees, set up by the Union Ministry of Rural Development, monitor the Central government schemes at district level. The DISHA meeting was attended by MPs, MLAs, district officials, and representatives from various government departments. During the meeting, the implementation of key government schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyot Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Kisan Credit Card Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Card Yojana was reviewed. The committee presented the status of these initiatives to the Union minister, who offered suggestions for improvement, according to an official release. Shah made suggestions so that 'benefits of the government schemes reach maximum people,' said the release. He also suggested connecting the hospitals, schools, agri market, and factories in all the talukas of the district under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana to make transport easy. The Union minister instructed the officials to collect the data of the last five years of all the four talukas of the district, under Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), to check interlinking of lakes, and to get feedback on recovery under the PM-SVANidhi scheme from banks. Under the Ek Ped Maa ke Naam project, Shah directed the stakeholders to plant 500 trees in each village in cooperation with Anganwadis, cooperatives, vaccination centres etc. in July and August. Earlier in the day, Shah also visited Gandhinagar-based Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET). INFLIBNET, an Inter University Centre of University Grants Commission, helps universities modernise their libraries and provides digital access to books, journals, and research papers from around the world for students, researchers, and readers. Shah advocated to bring all the libraries in Gujarat to come on a common platform created by INFLIBNET. He also launched an application of Sastu Sahitya Vardhak Karyalay on the occasion. Earlier in the morning, Shah, along with his family members, visited Jagannath temple in Ahmedabad on the occasion of annual Jagannath Rath Yatra and offered prayers. Shah is on a two-day visit to Gujarat and is scheduled to participate in public events in Godhra and Gandhinagar on Saturday.

TGCHE and INFLIBNET mulling to sign an MoU for boosting research
Hyderabad: In a significant move to bolster academic and research infrastructure, Prof Devika P Madalli, Director of the Information and Library Network Centre (INFLIBNET), an autonomous Inter-University Centre of the University Grants Commission (UGC-IUC) in Gujarat, met with Prof V Balakista Reddy, Chairman of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TGCHE). During their meeting, Prof Devika outlined the comprehensive range of services that INFLIBNET can offer to the public universities across Telangana. As part of this initiative, orientation and training programmes will be conducted for key stakeholders, including researchers, supervisors, and students. A robust monitoring mechanism will also be established to oversee the effective execution of these services and ensure their sustained usage. A key highlight of this proposed collaboration is the development of the 'Telangana Catalogue' (TelCat), a state level union catalogue that will provide unified access to bibliographic information across universities. Additionally, continuous support will be extended to the Education Department and universities of Telangana throughout the project's lifecycle, aiming for long term capacity building and smooth integration of services into the academic ecosystem.
