TVS Racing gears up for strong showing at INRC 2025
Bengaluru: TVS Racing, India's factory racing pioneer, is all set to make a formidable impact at the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) 2025 season. The first round of the Championship starts on May 4 at Nashik. This season, TVS Racing's machines have been significantly upgraded, drawing on key learnings from premier global rally raids like Dakar. With enhanced midrange and top-end performance, these upgrades are designed to deliver faster cornering acceleration, higher average speeds, and improved rally stage timings. Upgraded camshaft and cylinder head for improved midrange and top-end power, delivering quicker stage times. Retuned suspension systems offer improved traction, stability, and handling across high-speed rally conditions. Revamped seat, footpeg, and handlebar positions for reduced fatigue and enhanced rider control over long rally stages. Learnings from international rally raids have shaped the new vehicle geometry, suspension dynamics, and ride ergonomics. For the INRC 2025 season, the team has assembled a formidable rider line-up across multiple categories. In the Superbike Pro-expert Group A category, riding the TR 450R, are Abdul Wahid, Rajendra RE, and Samuel Jacob. Competing in the Super Sport 260 Group B class on the TR 200R are Imran Pasha, Banteilang Jyrwa, and Sachin D. Representing the team in the Women's Class Group B, also on the TR 200R, is the accomplished Aishwarya Pissay. In the Scooters up to 210cc Group B category, riding the Ntorq SXR 125 are Asif Ali, Shamim Khan, and Karthik N. Group A riders, including reigning champion Rajendra RE, underwent intensive training programs in Dubai, participating in the high-end Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge. The sessions focused on advanced rally navigation, riding precision, and endurance. Similarly, Aishwarya Pissay, a multiple-time Ladies' Class champion and an emerging global name, participated in the prestigious Hungary and Spain rounds of the Baja World Cup 2024.

Karna Kadur, Musa Sherif top APRC, INRC for a grand double
Bengaluru's reigning National champion Karna Kadur of Arka Motorsports won a round of the FIA-Asia Pacific Rally Championship after three years at the Madras International Circuit (MIC) here on Sunday. It was a near-flawless drive in the Volkswagen Polo by the 36-year-old Kadur, who was greatly aided by his experienced co-driver Musa Sherif from Kasargod. The duo also clinched the crown in the first round of the Blueband Fmsci Indian National Championship, organised by the Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC). Kadur attributed his success to a judicial blend of caution and aggression. 'After a long time, we had a trouble-free run. We had carefully planned our strategy, and it was executed flawlessly. We could have gone faster, but in view of the rising temperature, we had to exercise some caution. A few competitors suffered as they did not back off, and having seen this, I kept something in reserve in case I needed to push hard,' he said. Karna Kadur maintains pace to extend lead in APRC
Chennai, Apr 26 (UNI) Bengaluru ace Karna Kadur came up with a mature drive to open a sizable lead in the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship promoted by Vamcy Merla which is part of the Indu Chandhok Memorial 48th South India Rally, here on Saturday. With only four Special Stages to be run on the morrow, Kadur and his co-driver Musa Sherif have victory in their sights. Kadur leads his Arka Motorsports team-mate and the Delhi-Himachal Pradesh combination of Harkrishan Wadia and Kunal Kashyap by over a minute. In third place is their team-mate and former National champion Amittrajit Ghosh (Ashwin Naik) who nursed his patched-up Volkswagen Polo, a late replacement for his Mahindra XUV 300 which blew its engine during a test run a few days before the event. In the INRC category of the Blueband Fmsci Indian National Rally Championship Round-1 powered by Vamcy Merla, Kadur leads Ghosh with Suhem Kabeer (Vinay Padmashali) in third spot. About his performance today, Kadur said: 'I was a bit conservative in the first loop, especially the first Special Stage (AAVISA) which had some small rocks on the road. In the second run, I did not hold back since I knew the terrain would have been swept clean by the cars. So, I was able to make over a minute on my own time. Tomorrow is another day, but I will try to hold position and push only if I must. The main goal is to bring the car home in one piece.' Two of the front-runners in the APRC, Jason Saldanha and Chetan Shivram had issues with their respective cars and lost time that saw them drop down the order. The other big disappointment was the retirement of Hyundai i20 which is making its debut in the Indian motorsports scene with Hyderabad's Jeet Jhabakh packing up with a driveshaft problem but he is likely to rejoin the rally on Sunday, if the car is fully repaired. Meanwhile, the competition in the National championship was as razor sharp as ever with positions changing by the minute while Bengaluru-based Tarushi Vikram displayed impressive pace to lead the Women INRC class. Reigning National champion Karna Kadur of Bengaluru set the early pace and took a slender lead in the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC), promoted by Vamcy Merla, after two loops of the short Super Special Stage which kick-started the Indu Chandhok Memorial 48th South India Rally at the Madras International Circuit, here on Friday. Kadur, representing Arka Motorsports with veteran Musa Sherif (Kasargod) in the co-driver's seat, not only topped the chart in the APRC (Asia Cup) segment, but also led the field in the Blueband FMSCI National Rally Championship Round-1, sparing half-a-second to teammate Mangaluru's Jason Saldanha (co-driver P.V. Srinivasa Murthy of Bengaluru). Former National champion Amittrajit Ghosh (Ashwin Naik) finished the day in third spot behind Kadur and Saldanha in both APRC and the National championship to complete a 1-2-3 for Arka Motorsports at the end of first day. FIA Asia Pacific C'ship: Harikrishan and Kunal to spearhead Indian challenge
Defending champions of APRC India leg Harkrishan Wadia and Kunal Kashyap of Arka Motorsports, along with reigning national champions Karna Kadur and Musa Sherif will spearhead Indian challenge at the Asia Zone round of the Asia Pacific Rally Championship from April 25-27 at the Madras International Circuit. A record number of 21 entries have been confirmed and this is an all-time record for India in the APRC Asia Cup, which will be held alongside the FMSCI Indu Chandhok Memorial Indian Rally Championship (INRC), organised by Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC). The recce of all the 21 cars were completed on Thursday. Vicky Chandhok, President of the Asia Pacific Rally Championship working group, said, "Continuing his unstinted support from two years ago, for the FIA APRC, VamcyMerla has been involved in backing the event in Indonesia, New Zealand and of course in India.
