Ivy Tech Logansport open Sunday for free FAFSA help

Ivy Tech Community College's Logansport site is one of 39 locations where financial aid professionals will be volunteering from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday to help collegebound students and their families open the door to financial aid. The free College Goal Sunday program assists Indiana students in filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA form is required for students to be considered for federal and state grants, many scholarships, and federal student loans at most colleges, universities, and vocational/technical schools nationwide. The FAFSA must be filed by the State of Indiana priority deadline of April 15 to guarantee state aid for those who qualify. 'Many families perceive the form to be too complicated and time consuming to complete, often leading to students missing out on financial aid they would receive,' the college said in a press release. 'This is one of many reasons College Goal Sunday is so important. In less than one afternoon during the event, students and their families get free help from the expert volunteers and file the form.' What students should bring Students should attend with a parent or guardian, who may find it helpful to bring completed 2023 IRS 1040 tax returns, W-2 Forms and other 2023 income and benefits information. Students who worked should also bring their income information.
