Arab Coordination Group Partners with Private Sector to Drive Sustainable Development
The Arab Coordination Group (ACG) hosted a flagship session titled 'Partnering for Impact: The Arab Coordination Group and the Private Sector Driving Sustainable Development' during the Private Sector Forum of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group. This session took place alongside the IsDB Group Annual Meetings in Algiers. The event spotlighted key initiatives, strategic investments, and pioneering success stories led by ACG member institutions. It underscored the global impact of public-private partnerships in advancing sustainable development and emphasized the importance of private-sector engagement in emerging and high-potential markets. The dialogue focused on fostering collaboration and scalable solutions, with a particular emphasis on infrastructure development and the critical role of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in promoting inclusive economic growth. Established in 1975, the ACG is a strategic alliance of development finance institutions committed to delivering coordinated and effective development support. By leveraging shared expertise and facilitating knowledge exchange, the Group plays a vital role in helping developing countries achieve their social and economic development objectives. To date, the ACG has extended over 11,000 development loans across more than 160 countries. ICIEC, NEXIM Bank Forge Strategic Partnership to Strengthen Trade, Investment
The Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC), a member of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group and a provider of Shariah-compliant insurance solutions, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM) during the recent IsDB Group meetings in Algeria. This MoU sets the foundation for a strategic partnership aimed at deepening collaboration in the fields of investment insurance and export credit. The alliance is designed to enhance financial and commercial ties, driving economic development across ICIEC member countries and beyond. Through this partnership, both institutions will share expertise in export credit and investment insurance, conduct joint marketing efforts, and develop customized products for export and investment markets. SEWA obtains the ISO 20000 for improving IT services
The project aims to improve and develop IT services by applying best practices and complying with international policies, enhancing user experience and raising institutional performance and business continuity. The project was implemented through joint efforts and integrated cooperation between the Governance, Compliance, and Risk Department of the Internal Audit and Risk Assessment Department and the Information and Communication Technology Department. Innovation and quality Majid Issa Hureimel Al Shamsi, Executive Director of Corporate Support at SEWA, emphasised that the project represents a model of integration between the two departments to achieve the Authority's vision and strategy for innovation and quality, and to continue working on implementing further initiatives that support digital transformation and the development of corporate services. Ensuring compliance with international standards Eng. Asma Yousef Ahmed, Head of Governance, Compliance, and Risk Assessment at the Internal Audit and Risk Assessment Department, said that the department is proud to complete this project, which enhances corporate governance practices and contributes to ensuring compliance with international standards. This cooperation between the two departments reflects the spirit of teamwork to achieve strategic goals and strengthen corporate standing.
