QC holds CSR alignment training forum to promote global standards

Qatar Chamber, in collaboration with the Regional Network for Consultancy, recently organised a specialised training forum titled 'Aligning Organizations in Qatar with the ISO 26000 Standard for Social Responsibility.' The event aimed to empower institutions across various sectors in Qatar to align their operational practices with the ISO 26000 standard, which is widely recognised as a global benchmark for promoting transparency, accountability, and responsible organisational conduct.
The forum witnessed the participation of representatives from both the public and private sectors, reflecting a growing national commitment to embedding social responsibility into the fabric of institutional frameworks.
Delivering the keynote address was Dr Ali Abdullah Al Ibrahim, vice president of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility, who underscored the strategic importance of adopting internationally recognized frameworks such as ISO 26000. He emphasised that alignment with this standard enhances credibility, strengthens stakeholder trust, and supports broader sustainable development goals.
Throughout the forum, several key topics were explored, including an introduction to the ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standard, a detailed roadmap for aligning organisational practices with its principles, the overall importance of institutional alignment with the framework, and the process of obtaining certification of compliance. These sessions were designed to raise awareness and provide participants with practical tools to integrate social responsibility into their core strategies and daily operations.
Speaking on the occasion, Fatima Issa Al Kuwari, head of the training and development section at Qatar Chamber, said that the training forum reflects the chamber's unwavering commitment to advancing sustainability and social responsibility practices across all sectors in the country.
She highlighted the chamber's proactive role in empowering both public and private sector entities, as well as civil society organizations, to adopt international best practices that contribute to long-term development and generate a positive social impact.
In her opening remarks, Al Kuwari emphasised that Qatar Chamber consistently seeks to build institutional capacities by providing knowledge-based resources, practical tools, and opportunities for experience-sharing. She noted that the forum stands as a testament to constructive engagement and collaboration among various sectors aimed at elevating business practices to meet the highest international standards.
The forum concluded with a renewed sense of purpose among participants, who left better equipped to implement social responsibility frameworks within their organisations. The initiative aligns closely with Qatar's national vision for sustainable development and reaffirms Qatar Chamber's leadership in promoting ethical, responsible, and forward-looking business practices throughout thecountry.
