Massachusetts 'The Voice' contestant to perform during battle rounds
BOSTON (WWLP) – A singer living in Massachusetts is competing in 'The Voice' during the battle rounds on Monday night. During the blind auditions, Naomi Soleil performed her version of the song 'Stars' by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, an American rock band formed in 2002 in Vermont. Just seconds before Naomi finished singing, coaches Adam Levine and Michael Bublé hit the red button to turn their chairs around, making her able to join a team. The Voice contestant from the 'elbow crease' of Massachusetts advances Naomi is an 18-year-old who is originally from Maplewood, New Jersey and is currently living in Boston. After hearing from the coaches, Naomi picked Team Michael. 'I am over the moon. I'm so happy and excited to be here, and I cannot wait to work with Michael. What excites me most about working with Michael is just the fact that he's so wise. I feel like there's so much to learn from him, and I just can't wait,' said Naomi. To see if Naomi advances, watch 'The Voice' on 22News Monday starting at 8 p.m. Another contestant representing Massachusetts is of Bridgewater. He performed 'I Say A Little Prayer' by Aretha Franklin and chose Team Adam. The Voice contestant from the 'elbow crease' of Massachusetts advances
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WWLP) – The Voice contestant from Massachusetts who sang in the blind audition Monday night on 22News received a four-chair turn. Conor James performed on stage in front of an audience with coaches Adam Levine, Kelsea Ballerini, John Legend, and Michael Bublé. The song he chose was 'I Say A Little Prayer' by Aretha Franklin. Western Mass. music students place first in international competition, play Carnegie Hall John Legend and Michael Bublé simultaneously turned their chairs within seconds of Conor's performance. Adam Levine was the third to turn around before Kelsey had a chance to block him, she turned around. When Conor told the judges he was 28 years old from Bridgewater, Massachusetts, John Legend asked what part of Massachusetts. 'It's not the armpit of Massachusetts, but it's like the elbow crease,' Conor replied. Conor ended up choosing veteran coach Adam Levine. Watch his full performance on The Voice.
