Pride of Britain Awards 2025: Nominations now open to vote for your unsung Midlands heroes
Today is the national launch of the Pride of Britain (POB) Awards.
The awards recognise everyday people and celebrate the bravery and brilliance of those who display true grit and determination to work tirelessly to support charities.
While celebrities attend one of the biggest events in the showbiz calendar, it is the real people who are the stars of the show.
Each year, two fantastic fundraisers get to represent our region at an awards ceremony in London, and are even in with a chance of winning the overall ITV Regional Fundraiser of the Year award.
Last year, the West Midlands winner was Manny Singh Kang from Wolverhampton. He was named as our "Regional Fundraiser of the Year" in September, and topped that by being named the overall "Fundraiser of the Year" at the star-studded event in London in October.
He won the overall award after taking part in extreme fundraising challenges to raise money for Dementia UK.
The East Midlands winner was Agnes Nisbett from Leicester, who pioneered the Born Whilst Sleeping programme to support grieving couples. This included creating a special room at the Leicester Royal Infirmary where mothers who'd lost a baby could grieve in private.
