ITV This Morning viewers blast Alison Hammond over crude comment to JoJo Siwa
ITV This Morning fans weren't happy with a comment the host made to Celebrity Big Brother star JoJo Siwa. This Morning viewers have slammed Alison Hammond after she made a comment to JoJo Siwa during Monday's show. Alison was co-hosting with guest presenter Paddy McGuines s and during one segment, they spoke to Chris Hughes on a video link from an animal sanctuary in Bexhill. However, the cameras then linked up with his Celebrity Big Brother co-star JoJo Siwa, after she had just appeared on ITV's Lorraine with Andi Peters. Alison said: "Listen, Chris, before you go, we've got someone who wanted to say a quick hello to you! Have a look at this." JoJo then surprised Chris, she said: "Hey Christopher!" Chris and JoJo chatted and the former Love Island star mentioned that she would be visiting the Cotswolds with him the following week to meet his family, while also helping with some tasks, writes The Mirror. Paddy then teased Chris about his remark that JoJo gives him energy in the mornings. Paddy joked: "Can I just ask, how do you know JoJo gives you energy in the Morning? What's going on here? Hello! Hashtag awkward." Alison chuckled at Paddy's lighthearted joke before she then turned JoJo and saying: "Honestly, I'm so invested in you and Chris." Alison posed the question everyone was eager to have answered, she remarked: "I don't care what anyone says, I want to know. I'm so invested! I love this little relationship; it's beautiful, but just for the record, what is your relationship status with Chris right now?" JoJo then appeared flustered, she said: "Erm, I will say he is up there as one of my favourite people in the entire world-" However Alison cheekily added: "With benefits." Many viewers watching at home weren't happy with the comment and took to social media to express their discomfort at Alison's forthrightness. One viewer pleaded: "Please stop this JoJo and Chris segment on #ThisMorning." Others echoed the sentiment, with one commenting: "I love a laugh n all that, but that was a crass comment by Alison re JoJo and Chris' relationship." Another chimed in, saying: "Leave Jojo alone. Alison that was uncalled for." The discussion clearly didn't resonate with all viewers, as one wrote: "I find this whole thing with JoJo and Chris nauseating. @ITV and @thismorning just need to drop it. It's not cute it's embarrassing. #thismorning." Another viewer described the start of the show as "Messy and awkward start #ThisMorning." Earlier on Lorraine, Andi Peters also quizzed JoJo on her relationship with Chris. Speaking about taking part in Celebrity Big Brother, JoJo said: "It changed my life in ways I couldn't imagine." Andi went on to ask if Chris was now her boyfriend: "Chris? Your boyfriend?" JoJo laughed and said: "No! It's so funny to me how straight up people are? You haven't even said who you are talking about but I think I know." Andi didn't hold back with the questions and then went on to ask if they were exclusive, leaving JoJo giggling. The host went on to rhyme off some Love Island phrases like 'turning heads' and asked if they have spoken about anything like that. JoJo replied: "Christopher and I have had a lot of chats - we've never had that version of a chat. He's the best man" At the end of the interview, Jojo thanked Andi for the 'hard hitting questions' as she put her hands on her face. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! ITV This Morning star Sian Welby addresses future on show after landing slot Sian Welby has been a regular fixture on This Morning since she made her debut as a co-presenter on the show last year. She has now addressed her television future. Sian Welby is a stand-in host on This Morning (Image: ITV ) This Morning's Sian Welby has opened up about her aspirations in the television industry after securing a presenting role on the popular ITV programme. Sian made her debut as a co-presenter on This Morning last year. Since then she has been a stand-in host and presented a range of different segments on the show. She juggles her TV work alongside her radio career, where she currently presents on Capital Radio with Jordan North and Chris Stark. She has previously appeared on Heart FM and on Channel 5 as a radio presenter. Sian went viral in 2015 with a pun-filled weather forecast to mark the 35th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Now on the Turning Points podcast with Scottish singer Lulu, Sian has addressed her future in television. Her candid words were: "I can openly say that I really want something in television that is mine, that I can own, whether it's a chat show or, maybe this comes to the SMTV thing, the Cat Deeley situation, I would love to maybe be able to be the host of something. Sian Welby joined This Morning last year (Image: No credit ) Article continues below "Right now I'm the cover person or I host a segment. But I suppose my own ambition is [to have my own show]. That would be the dream." Despite finding success on ITV, Sian also acknowledged the setbacks experienced along her journey and shared that she occasionally feels disheartened when missing out on opportunities. Reflecting on her spikes of frustration, she admitted: "I have missed out on jobs along the way. There's jobs I've wanted and had moments where I didn't get it. "I had to process that and go, 'It wasn't mine to have'. And I had a lot of those moments and I was like, 'When is it my turn?'" Sian Welby (Image: JMEnternational, Getty Images ) Sian has previously revealed This Morning co-star Cat Deeley was her television idol growing up. The 38-year-old recalls watching Cat star in SMTV: Live alongside Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly. During her time working at New Look in Nottinghamshire, Sian decided to chase her dream of becoming a presenter. In an interview with Boots, Shoes and Fashion, she recounted, "I had had this new idea of becoming a presenter as a few mates had likened me to Cat Deely who at the time was a bit of an idol. "Mainly because she wasn't afraid to laugh at herself and be silly. So I literally googled 'how to be a presenter' and a website called came up. Once I had joined that I uploaded a pic, wrote a quick bio and to my surprise instantly got an audition." Sian weighed the option of maintaining her retail position while exploring presenting opportunities for nearly half a decade. Her persistence paid off when she secured a role in a New! Magazine advertisement, which paved the way for her Channel 5 opportunity.
