Kumkum Bhagya to go off-air after running for 11 Years; to be replaced by Ganga Mai Ki Betiyaan?

One of the popular daily soaps of Indian television, Kumkum Bhagya which started with Shabir Ahluwalia and Sriti Jha and has been ruling hearts since 2014, is reportedly going off-air. The TV show which enjoys a huge fanbase and was once the top rated shows of the channel for years, is expected to go off-air. The show's TRP ratings have been witnessing a decline for quite some time and this has been the major reason behind this decision. According to reports in the media, 'Kumkum Bhagya' is set to be Replaced by new show 'Ganga Mai Ki Betiyaan' starring Amandeep Sidhu, Sheezan Khan and Shubhangi Latkar . The show is being Produced by Ravie Dubey and Sargun Mehta. The show is yet to receive an official time slot but is likely to take over the slot currently occupied by Kumkum Bhagya. A source close to the production told "Kumkum Bhagya, which presently has Pranali Rathod, Namik Paul, and Akshay Bindra as the fourth-generation leads, will soon go off air. The decision has been made to end the long-running show due to a drop in TRPs." According to reports, Kumkum Bhagya is set to air its final episode on September 7. The decision comes amid declining viewership, as the show has been delivering below-average TRPs, especially over the past three seasons. At present, the story revolves around its newest leads, Prarthana and Shivansh. Interestingly, Prarthana is the great-granddaughter of Pragya, the show's original female protagonist. The characters are currently portrayed by Pranali Rathod and Namik Paul. Spanning over 11 years and crossing the 3000-episode milestone, Kumkum Bhagya has explored nearly every classic theme seen in Indian television dramas.
