Disturbed's New Single Matches One Of The Band's Biggest Hits
Disturbed's 'I Will Not Break' slips on Billboard's charts but ties as the band's second-longest run ... More ever on the Hot Hard Rock Songs ranking. DETROIT, MICHIGAN - MARCH 10: David Draiman of the band Disturbed performs during The Sickness 25th Anniversary Tour at Little Caesars Arena on March 10, 2025 in Detroit, Michigan. (Photo by) After 12 weeks on the Billboard charts, Disturbed's new single "I Will Not Break" is on the decline. The track still appears on multiple rankings, but it's falling on each and every one of them. At this point, it doesn't look like it will climb any higher on any roster — although it has already reached the summit on most of the tallies on which it appears. Now, it's all about longevity. And, already, after only a few months, the latest from the hard rockers stands out as one of the group's longest-running successes on a competitive list. "I Will Not Break" has now spent an even dozen weeks on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart — Billboard's ranking of the most consumed tunes in that style. The company blends sales and streaming data as well as total audience impressions at radio to paint a picture of which hard rock tracks are the most popular in the U.S. This frame, "I Will Not Break" dips from No. 8 to No. 13 – but it's the length of time that's really notable. With 12 weeks to its credit on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, "I Will Not Break" is tied as Disturbed's second-longest-running win ever on the tally. It is now matched with "Don't Tell Me," a collaboration with Ann Wilson. That tune debuted in early 2024 and also held on for an even 12 frames before disappearing. It's highly likely that "I Will Not Break" will, in fact, break that tie in just a few days, since it's still living in the middle of the list and is unlikely to drop precipitously in the span of just a week. Only one track stands ahead of both "Don't Tell Me" and "I Will Not Break," and it's "Hey You." That tune, which arrived in the summer of 2024, peaked at No. 4 and went on to spend exactly half a year, or 26 frames, on the Hot Hard Rock Songs ranking. That's more than twice as long as both "Don't Tell Me" and "I Will Not Break." Whether Disturbed's latest focus cut will be able to catch up by holding on for several more months is tough to predict, as it's already on the downswing. "I Will Not Break" currently appears on three Billboard charts, and it earns its lowest placement on the Hot Hard Rock Songs tally. The tune still lives inside the top five on both the Rock & Alternative Airplay and Mainstream Rock Airplay lists, where it declines ever so slightly to Nos. 4 and 5, respectively. At the same time, two different versions of Disturbed's "The Sound of Silence" remain bestsellers. The original settles at No. 7 on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, while the Cyril remix slips one space to No. 3 on the Dance Digital Song Sales tally.

Disturbed's Career-Defining Single Is A True Bestseller Again
Months after its release, Disturbed's new single "I Will Not Break" is still a big hit on the Billboard charts. This frame, the tune appears on a trio of lists, holding on within the top 10 on each of them. Radio DJs continue to put it into heavy rotation while fans eagerly snap up the hard rock cut. The cover that has surprisingly come to define the band's career returns to multiple tallies at the same time the group's latest offering continues to perform well, and it asserts itself once more as a true bestseller. "The Sound of Silence" also appears on three Billboard rankings this frame, just like "I Will Not Break" – although there is no overlap between where the cuts appear. While "I Will Not Break" is largely a success at radio, "The Sound of Silence" lives solely on a trio of sales-focused rosters. This week, the track increases its chart count as it returns to two purchase-centric lists. Disturbed's cut reappears highest on the Alternative Digital Song Sales chart, where it's back at No. 9. It also returns to the Rock Digital Song Sales list, coming in at No. 13. Purchases of the Simon & Garfunkel reworking must have surged, as the song not only reenters those two rosters, but also climbs on a third. "The Sound of Silence" lifts from No. 6 to No. 3 on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales tally. Disturbed also appears on one other Billboard chart at the moment — and impressively, it's with yet another take on "The Sound of Silence." The Cyril remix of the tune is just one spot away from ruling the Dance Digital Song Sales chart. Yet again, it holds firm in the runner-up position — an impressive placement for a track that has now spent 66 weeks on that list. Disturbed has hit No. 1 on nearly every tally where the band currently appears with its current hits. The only chart the band has not topped so far is the Rock & Alternative Airplay ranking. "I Will Not Break" isn't far off from ruling, though. It holds at No. 3 on that radio tally, one spot beneath its all-time highest placement. Since it remains inside the top three, it could still climb higher, potentially earning Disturbed yet another No. 1 in the coming weeks — especially as the group continues to promote the cut and looks ahead to what's next.

During the show at the Golden 1 Center honoring the band's landmark 2000 album, Draiman paused things for a few minutes after the group's beloved Simon & Garfunkel 'The Sound of Silence' cover for a bit of personal business. I love you more than anything I have ever loved in this world, and it would be the absolute pinnacle of my life and my existence,' he added, while pulling a ring box out of his pocket and getting down on one knee as Uli covered her face. 'Sarah Uli, will you marry me?' The crowd went wild when the two shared a passionate kiss afterwards, with Draiman assuring them, 'In case you didn't hear, she said yes.' Uli posted pics of the moment with the caption, 'the happiest moment ever with the love of my life.' Disturbed Ties Van Halen With A Brand New No. 1 Single
Disturbed earns its thirteenth No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with 'I Will Not Break,' ... More tying Godsmack and Van Halen for the sixth-most leaders. Shearer/WireImage) The band Disturbed recently returned with a tune that feels like it's just the beginning of a new chapter – and if early signs are any indication, this next era could be just as successful as previous ones. The hard rock act has long been a regular in the upper tiers of various Billboard rankings, and especially so in the past few years, when it's odd not to see that moniker inside the top 10 on at least one or two tallies. Now, with the newly-popular "I Will Not Break," the group kicks off its latest campaign with a quick win — and another chart-topper to add to the growing pile. "I Will Not Break" wasted no time racing up the Billboard charts. The tune arrived to solid sales and streaming numbers, and in the past few weeks, it has picked up serious steam on the radio. Rock programmers, who are seemingly always eager to spin the latest offering from Disturbed, have embraced the cut in a big way. This week, the track climbs from No. 2 to No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. It knocks Papa Roach's "Even If It Kills Me" off the top spot. This win not only marks an exciting victory for the group, it also shifts Disturbed's historic position when compared to other names in the field. With 'I Will Not Break,' Disturbed earns its thirteenth No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. That's enough to tie the band with Linkin Park for a shared spot on the all-time ranking of the most successful acts ever. The latter band has now held strong at 12 leaders for a while. Linkin Park is currently working on making a comeback of its own. The rock outfit's new single "Up From the Bottom" debuts on the Mainstream Rock Airplay tally this frame at No. 17. That track is already a huge hit on several other rankings, and it could easily become another No. 1 on this list in the coming weeks. Disturbed now sits in a three-way tie for the sixth-most No. 1 hits in Mainstream Rock Airplay history. It joins Godsmack and Van Halen, who also have 13 leaders to their names. Just ahead of this trio are Foo Fighters and Metallica, each with 14, and then there's a notable jump to Five Finger Death Punch with 15 and Three Days Grace with 18 champions. Shinedown still owns the record outright with 20 No. 1s, and it doesn't seem like that will be changing anytime soon. While its most impressive placement is on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, "I Will Not Break" is also performing well across several other Billboard rankings as well. The single remains at its peak of No. 4 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay list, the radio tally that includes more than just the harder side of the rock genre. On the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, the cut slips slightly this frame. It drops from No. 5 to No. 7, though it's still holding on inside the top 10. The ranking blends all consumption metrics — sales, streaming, and radio airplay — and provides a more complete picture of a hard rock tune's overall popularity in the U.S.

Disturbed May Soon Make History With Another No. 1
Disturbed's latest hit 'I Will Not Break' nears No. 1 on multiple Billboard charts, potentially ... More earning the band a historic thirteenth rock airplay chart-topper. American alternative heavy metal band Disturbed with lead singer David Draiman performs at Afas Live, Amsterdam, Netherlands, 7th May 2019. (Photo by Paul Bergen/Redferns) Lately, Disturbed has been enjoying a particularly notable run on the Billboard charts. While the group first rose to fame in the early 2000s, recent years have brought new highs, thanks largely to an old favorite, a hugely successful cover – and its smart remix – and even a new hit that may just be getting started. The rock outfit has evolved into a reliable chart mainstay throughout the decades, and 2025 might turn out to be one of its biggest years ever. The band's latest single, 'I Will Not Break,' has only been out for a little more than a month, but it's already a big win on the charts in America. The track fronts what appears to be a forthcoming full-length, though Disturbed hasn't shared much about the new era just yet. This week, the cut is present on four separate Billboard rankings. It appears inside the top five on three of them and nearly rules one – and it may have a chance to do so very soon. On the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, 'I Will Not Break' moves up from No. 3 to No. 2. That's a new peak for the track, one which it reached after just five weeks on the tally. This time around, the only title standing in the way is 'Even If It Kills Me' by Papa Roach, which is enjoying its third frame at No. 1 out of 10 total on the list. If 'I Will Not Break' can rise one more position, it will mark Disturbed's thirteenth No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. That's not just a lucky number — it could be a historic one for the band. The group is currently tied with Linkin Park on the list of the most successful acts in the history of the tally, as both have claimed 12 chart-toppers on the genre-specific ranking. Scoring one more would break that match and place Disturbed in elite company, matching both Van Halen and Godsmack with 13 wins – enough to tie for the sixth-most No. 1s of all time. Beyond its placement on Mainstream Rock Airplay, 'I Will Not Break' is also a smash on several other rankings. This week, it returns to its all-time peak of No. 4 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart. It also dips slightly on the Hot Hard Rock Songs roster, falling just one space to No. 5. The tune isn't doing quite as well on the more competitive Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, where it slips from No. 43 to No. 46. That list includes some of the most popular tracks across genres that overlap, so it's not surprising that 'I Will Not Break' doesn't shine as brightly there.
