A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after two reports of rape in a town in Surrey. The first rape happened near Chertsey Bridge in March which police say has now concluded. A second rape was reported to have happened near Chertsey Library on June 27 at around 7pm. A 15-year-old girl was with a friend when they were approached by two males, one of whom later assaulted the girl. Inspector Ian Nash gave an update and said: 'I can advise that a 14-year-old male has been arrested in connection with this on-going enquiry. 'I will continue to put any further appropriate updates here but would ask people to remain mindful of what they post online about this as it is a live case with active legal proceedings underway.' Two arrested after house fire in Chertsey

Two people have been arrested following a house fire in Surrey, police said. Surrey Police said that the force, and Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, attended a fire on Laburnum Road, Chertsey, at 18:10 GMT on 17 March. The fire was put out and nobody was injured, although some residents were taken to hospital as a precaution, police said. An 18-year-old woman from Hounslow and a 17-year-old boy from Epsom were arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and remain in police custody. Runnymede Borough Commander Ian Nash said: "We appreciate that this will have caused concern to the local community, however a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing."
