John Butler announces Australian tour for September 2025
John Butler has been one of the country's preeminent singer-songwriters for decades now.
He's pumped out a hell of a lot of music since we first heard him in the late-1990s and the latest batch of tunes, Prism , will be with us in September.
Given how electric the guy is on the live stage, we're pleased to announce he will be back out on the road doing what he does best straight after the new album comes out.
As is most often the case, Butler will hit the road with a crack band in tow, Ian Peres on bass, Michael Boase on percussion and old friend and colleague Michael Barker back on the drums.
"We've been having such a great time bringing these new songs to life on stage and the older songs are sounding BETTER THAN ever," Butler cracks in a statement released this morning. "Sorry couldn't help myself!"
The tour will see the crew stop in at no fewer than 15 theatres and halls around the country all through September, with a massive stack of regional dates in among the regular city commitments. Whether you're in Bundaberg, Ballarat, or Brisbane, there's a good chance you'll be able to see Butler and band.
That said, these shows are pretty damn small by Butler standards, and while you should relish this chance to see him in action in such intimate spaces, you should also consider grabbing your tickets pretty swiftly.
As if this wasn't reason enough to get out there, the amazing Emma Donovan will be there in support.
Til My Song Is Done , her solo album of last year, was another incredible collection of tunes from the singer, who has dazzled us as part of The Black Arm Band, Stiff Gins and out the front of Emma Donovan and the Putbacks over the years.
