Manama: Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj, Minister of Works, highlighted the importance of Edict (1) of 2025, issued by Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, which establishes rules and conditions for classifying real estate developments or shared properties as gated communities. According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister described the decision as a milestone for the real estate sector and the first of its kind, aligning with the government's efforts to develop integrated residential and investment environments with modern infrastructure. Minister Al Hawaj stated that the decision regulates gated community development to improve construction efficiency, infrastructure, and public services. It aims to create well-integrated residential areas with modern facilities, green spaces, public parking, and recreational amenities, enhancing residents' quality of life. The minister highlighted the decision's role in attracting investment, developing a transparent and competitive market, and aligning with global real estate trends. The Ministry of Works will oversee infrastructure standards, monitor projects, and ensure essential services for the long-term sustainability of gated communities. Minister Al Hawaj noted that the ministry will work with relevant authorities to ensure projects meet technical and engineering standards, enhancing infrastructure and residential quality. It will also support real estate developers in complying with regulations and promoting a professional and sustainable investment environment.
