Rap legend Ice-T roasts host Waleed Aly on The Project

Waleed Aly was roasted on The Project last night when he quizzed US rapper Ice-T about the origins of his name. The legendary musician and actor appeared on the Aussie program via videolink on Tuesday night to discuss his upcoming movie Zombie Plane, which is currently filming in Australia, when Aly questioned him about his famous 'Ice' moniker. 'Everybody wants to be cool. You know what I'm saying? Being ice is the epitome of cool,' explained the 67-year-old musician, whose real name is Tracy Lauren Marrow. 'I'm Ice-T and I'm not iced tea to drink, I'm Ice capital T. My name starts with a T, my real name is Tracy.' 'So, you know, I was like considered Cool T. I was named after Iceberg Slim. My friends call me Iceberg. They call me Berg.' While Ice – who joined the show via videolink from the Gold Coast set of Zombie Plan e – was a good sport and answered the question graciously, Aly's co-panellist Sam Taunton couldn't help but mock the question. 'Ice, would you say anyone who has to ask the question 'Why do people go for 'Ice' to be cool' is not cool?' 'Yeah,' the rapper replied. 'I would say that, you know, that's kind of a question you get from a real-life square.' Panellists Georgie Tunny and Kate Langbroek, were left in hysterics with their guest's deadpan answer, with Taunton saying he was 'dying' over the rapper's hilarious response. Speaking of Ice, Vanilla Ice joins Ice-T in Zombie Plane, which also stars Chuck Norris and local celebs Sophie Monk and Kyle Sandilands. The horror-comedy initially did not appeal to Ice, who has also made a name for himself by playing Detective Fin Tutuola on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit since 2000. But it was his wife Coco Austin and daughter Chanel who convinced him to sign on. 'They said to me, 'Would you like to come down to Australia and do a Zombie movie?' I'm like, 'No, I'm good. Uh-uh, no,'' he recalled. 'And then my daughter was like, 'Come on, Daddy. Zombies, zombies, we love zombie movies.' And Coco was like, 'A zombie movie? You're going to turn down a zombie movie?' So I'm on a plane to Down Under and here I am.'

Kyle Sandilands makes Hollywood debut alongside bikini clad model and international star Ice-T as he steps out on Gold Coast set of Zombie Plane

Kyle Sandilands made his Hollywood debut on Tuesday as he was spotted on the Gold Coast set of Australian action comedy film Zombie Plane. The radio shock jock, 53, brushed shoulders with international star and rapper Ice-T, who was also spotted on set of the upcoming flick. Filming for the day appeared to be taking place on a lavish yacht where a model could be seen stretching as she prepared for filming. The brunette beauty flaunted her figure as she stripped down to a leopard print one-piece bathing suit and lounged back on the lavish boat. Meanwhile, Kyle was dressed in a captain's vest and white shirt for his scenes, in which he will play the billionaire captain of the yacht. Filming for the day appeared to be taking place on a lavish yacht where a model could be seen stretching as she prepared for filming The radio star paired the look with black shorts and carried a captain's hat in hand with a name badge on his vest which read 'Kyle'. Between takes, Kyle could be seen wearing a black cap with a pair of sunglasses resting on his head as he spoke with other members of the cast. At one point, he was also seen smiling as he interacted with a dog on set. Elsewhere, hitmaker Ice-T, 67, kept things casual in a white jersey shirt with matching shorts. It comes after Kyle revealed his big screen career got off to a shaky start. The KIIS FM star jetted off to the Gold Coast to shoot scenes for his Hollywood debut in the campy action flick Zombie Plane this week. Kyle revealed on Tuesday his first foray in front of the camera appeared doomed before he even got off the plane. He explained he was 'humiliated' by Aussie actor Stephen Curry about his date of birth after calling it out on air. The radio star paired the look with black shorts and carried a captain's hat in hand with a name badge on his vest which read 'Kyle' 'I was humiliated yesterday. You might remember me mentioning Stephen Curry's birthday. Stephen Curry is the actor from The Castle.' Kyle went on to explain Stephen was on the same flight to the Gold Coast on Monday night. 'I look over and there's Stephen Curry sitting opposite me. I said, "Happy birthday, mate," and he said "Hey?" I said, "Isn't it your birthday?" and he said, "No",' Kyle explained. Adding Stephen was not forthcoming with his actual date of birth, Kyle said he then chastised producer Bruno Boucher for giving him false information. Bruno however defended himself saying all sources pointed to the actor's birthday being May 26. Kyle, who will play a billionaire yacht owner in the film, then went off to costuming where he embarrassed himself in front of the actor again, as well as production staff. 'I've walked in and there's Stephen Curry looking like an anorexic Mr Magoo and I said, "It is your birthday," and he went, "It's not I don't know what to tell you," and then everyone looked at me.' Kyle's set troubles didn't end there, with the radio star admitting he wasn't the biggest fan of his on screen attire. 'I said, "Okay what am I wearing",' Kyle said. '[They said] we've been on the boat with the real guy and the captain wears the same clothes as the other guys.' This did not sit well with Kyle who said he felt like a particular reality TV show character. 'All of a sudden I'm Captain Sandy from Below Deck looking like every other b***ard,' he said. 'Bruno knew I was distressed. I'm not coming up here to play an employee.' Bruno and newsreader Brooklyn Ross tried to soothe Kyle's ego saying the costume may be for comedic effect. 'So I've been brought in to be laughed at?' Kyle replied. 'Maybe I should just come home. I feel this whole thing is a disaster.' The KIIS FM star revealed on his The Kyle & Jackie O show on Monday morning that he is making his movie debut alongside Chuck Norris for the actor's final-ever film.
