Geneo: New lifestyle hub in Singapore with cathedral-style architecture, F&B options, green spaces and more
It's impressive how Singapore still manages to squeeze new shopping malls within its limited land space – Punggol Coast Mall and Icon Link@ClubStreet are two that just opened this year. Meanwhile, the shiny new complex that is Geneo has just been unveiled over at the west side of Singapore, offering those working and studying at Kent Ridge a new haunt instead of the usual campus spaces or hospital retail wing. Don't brush Geneo off as just another shopping mall, though, because it's so much more. Think of it as a much larger Westie cousin of Punggol Digital District. This mammoth of a mixed-development complex – a mega lifestyle hub, if you will – comprises a total of five sleek buildings that are home to offices (including Shopee's), wet labs, coworking spaces, serviced apartment residence Citadines Science Park which is also open for short staycation bookings, and of course, food and retail options. Some confirmed standout food and beverage brands at Geneo include Olive & Peach, a new-to-market café specialising in coffee and focaccia sandwiches; Great Nanyang Heritage Café with old-school favourites; a Hawkerlab food court; Western-Thai fusion restaurant Citrus Kitchen; healthy DIY bowl kiosk Grains & Co.; Taiwanese eatery Xi Men Jie; Ha-Jun Korean; and Swensen's Unlimited with its buffets. Of course, you'll also come across the usual chain outlets like Subway, Fun Toast, Pasta Express, Luckin Coffee, and Putien. Connecting all five buildings is a high-ceilinged event plaza with tall wooden arches that resemble that of Europe's grand cathedrals, and a 300-seater amphitheatre for performances and other activations. This area is conveniently linked straight to Kent Ridge MRT station along the yellow Circle Line. Craving a pocket of calm amidst all the spreadsheets and lab work? Pop out for a breather at The Seed, a little green haven within Geneo that's as much of a recreational garden hangout as it is a biological conservation site. Pick a chair and recline under the shade of trees as you admire the flowers and ginger plants all around.

New CBD underground mall has over 15 F&B outlets like Teo Soon, Hazukido & Super Ngon
I'm certain that 4pm was the wrong time to head to Icon Link@ClubStreet, because the underground mall was practically dead. It could mean 2 things: either everyone was still busy hustling in the office, or not many people know about this place. Judging by how the CBD usually turns into a ghost town after office hours, I'm leaning towards the former. After exploring all the shops, there are currently over 15 F&B outlets that are already operational with more on the way. To make things easier, I've put together a categorised list to help you find whichever category suits your interest. Masterpiece Bakery (#B2-14) — I spotted this bakery that had only a few varieties left for the day. They include Curry Chicken (S$2), Fruity & Nut Loaf (S$2.90), and Sourdough (S$7.50 for whole, S$3.90 for half). After doing a little digging online, I learnt that they also sell items like and Bagel. From Mondays to Fridays, the stall has a 'Buy 2, free 1' promotion. Hazukido (#B2-17) — This Taiwanese bakery is renowned for its flaky French croissants in flavours such as Queen Crab Truffle Cream (S$7.80), Lemon Icing (S$5.30), and Sea Salt Butter (S$4.50). Luckin Coffee (#B2-25) — For die-hard fans (like myself) of this popular Chinese coffee chain who adore their Coconut (S$4.40), Orange Americano (S$3.85), or (S$4.40), here's an additional pickup point for you to self-collect. COFFit. (#B2-16) — With the motto, 'Where Coffee Meets Fitness', COFFit. offers premium coffee with complimentary healthy milk options. amps tea (#B2-09) — Quench your thirst with options like Osmanthus Tea (S$4.50), White Peach Tea (S$4.90/S$5.90), and Watermelon Jasmine (S$5.90/S$6.90). Tianxin Desserts (#B2-27/28) — Craving for a sweet treat? This spot offers 30 dessert varieties such as Chestnut Cake for 3 (S$5.70), Mango Coconut Jelly (S$10.70), and Hainanese (S$2.90). Le Musée (#B2-08) — This pick-up dessert store sells artisanal macarons that are almost too pretty to eat. Flavours include Tokyo Banana (S$8), Melon Parma Ham (S$8), and Coconut Mango Tango (S$7). Dipu (#B2-37) — An Indian fast food concept eatery with offerings like Grilled Chicken Wrap and Prawn. Teo Soon (#B2-38) — Hailing from Johor, this Malaysian cafe opens its first overseas outlet at Icon Link@ClubStreet. It serves crowd favourites like with – (S$6.50), Dry Chilli (S$5.90), flaky Egg Tart (S$1.80), and Signature Butter & Homemade Toast (S$1.60). Super Ngon (#B2-24) — An authentic Vietnamese eatery that used to operate underneath a HDB flat over at Crawford Street. It has sets like Beef Noodle Soup (S$16.40), that comes with 2 pieces of spring roll, and a glass of Vietnamese iced tea. Feng (#B2-35) — A Chinese bao makan spot. Cooking Panda (#B2-36) — Chengdu-style mala tang and speciality coffee place. Domino's (#B2-05) — Get your pizza cravings fixed here. 爆味堂 Bao Wei Tang (#B2-15) — This Taiwanese eatery has snacks like Salt & Pepper Chicken (S$4.80) and Popcorn Chicken (S$10.90). Crumbz Up Toast & Acai (#B2-07) — Has toasts like Salmon (S$4.80), burgers such as Chicken & Omelette (S$4.50), and acai smoothies like Mango & Banana (S$5). Jinkura Bowl & Brew (#B2-18) — Offers Japanese fusion bowls from S$8.90. To get to Icon Link@ClubStreet, simply alight at Telok Ayer MRT Station (DT18) and look out for exit E. You can also head over to Mercure Icon Singapore City Centre, lookout for the red 'Icon Link@ClubStreet' signage, and head down 2 flights of escalators to basement 2. In the near future, the underground mall will also be directly linked to Chinatown MRT Station, allowing seamless connectivity to Telok Ayer Station. 12 best hawker stalls at 409 AMK Market & Food Centre The post New CBD underground mall has over 15 F&B outlets like Teo Soon, Hazukido & Super Ngon appeared first on
