BMW launches second-gen 2 Series Gran Coupe in India at ₹46.9 lakh
BMW India
has introduced the new generation of its 2 Series Gran Coupé in the country, priced from ₹46.9 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model, locally assembled at BMW's Chennai facility, is available exclusively with a petrol powertrain and comes in two variants—218 M Sport and 218 M Sport Pro, the latter priced at ₹48.9 lakh.
The latest 2 Series Gran Coupé features refreshed styling, a larger footprint, and an upgraded interior. Exterior updates include BMW's illuminated Iconic Glow Kidney grille, adaptive LED headlamps, redesigned bumpers, and 18-inch alloy wheels with M Sport detailing. The coupe has grown 20 mm in length and 25 mm in height over its predecessor, while maintaining a sporty stance.
Design
Inside, the cabin gets a new curved widescreen display, BMW's Operating System 9 with touch and voice controls, Veganza synthetic leather upholstery, and illuminated trim. The M Sport Pro variant also includes a panoramic sunroof, Harman Kardon audio system, and head-up display with augmented reality.
The new model comes powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, producing 156 hp and 230 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. BMW claims a 0–100 km/h time of 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 230 km/h.
BMW says the new model includes enhancements to the chassis and suspension for improved handling and ride comfort. Safety features include driver assistance systems like Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, and Parking Assistant Plus with a 3D view.
