CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Idan Toklomati and Kerwin Vargas each scored a goal to help Charlotte FC beat New York City FC 2-0 on Saturday night to snap a four-game winless streak. Kristijan Kahlina had three saves for Charlotte (9-11-2). Idan Toklomati tapped in a first-touch shot — off a cross played by Pep Biel — from point-blank range to give Charlotte a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute. Toklomati has three goals in the last four games.

Toklomati flicked a back-heel shot, off a low cross played in from the left side by Souleyman Doumbia, into the net to give Charlotte a 1-0 lead. Advertisement Kahlina has four shutouts this season for Charlotte (9-9-1). John Pulskamp had four saves for Kanas City. Sporting had 52% possession and had 21 shots but managed just four on target.
