Missing grandmother tried to board flight to Aberdeen before disappearing
Ildiko Maguire, known as Ildie,
The family of a grandmother who tried to board a flight to Aberdeen before she disappeared say they are "overwhelmed with worry".
Ildiko Maguire, from Luton in Bedfordshire, went missing on Saturday, June 21, and was later captured on CCTV travelling on a bus from London Luton Airport to the town's train station late at night the following day.
easyJet staff at the airport have confirmed with family that she returned on Monday, June 23, trying to get a fight to Aberdeen, but she was denied due to not having a passport for travel.
Police say Ildiko, known as Ildie, was further spotted back at a Starbucks at Luton Train Station that evening around 6pm - and that was the last confirmed sighting of the 53-year-old.
Her son Damo Maguire, who is desperate for answers, believes his mum tried to make her way to Scotland by train or coach.
He told the Record: "We are overwhelmed with worry. It's very strange and confusing.
"I am worried for her safety and wellbeing, as she suffers from mental health issues. There is a possible dementia diagnosis, so I think she might be thinking of past times.
"We spent a lot of time in Scotland when I was a child and mum has old friends that live there. She always says her calm place is Fraserburgh Beach.
"I've been looking high and low searching for her but there's just nothing.

"There's been no further local sightings in Bedfordshire, and after airport staff said she tried multiple times to get on a flight, it makes sense that she's then went get on a train or coach to Scotland.
"I've just been doing all I can to to spread the word."
Bedfordshire Police have said they are "concerned" for the grandmother's welfare. Ildiko is described as around 5'6" with burgundy short curly hair. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with red lips on the front.
