France's Iliad posts 12% core profit growth for 2024
March 25 (Reuters) - French telecommunications giant Iliad reported a 11.8% rise in its core profit over 2024 on Tuesday, driven by strong performances across its main markets France, Italy and Poland. The group's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation after leases (EBITDAal) - a core operating earnings measure used by many European telcos - were 3.85 billion euros ($4.16 billion) last year. Iliad reported 513,000 net additions in mobile users for the Free brand in France in 2024, amid intensifying competition in the second half of the year. In Italy, operating under the Iliad Italia brand, it saw a net gain of 906,000 mobile subscribers through the year and added 142,000 new fibre subscribers. In Poland, through mobile provider Play and broadband operator UPC, Iliad reported 270,000 net new subscribers. ($1 = 0.9264 euros)
