Murphy to take over from Doyle
Hollie Doyle will no longer act as the retained rider to owner Imad Al Sagar, with Oisin Murphy instead due to take up the position. Doyle was in the saddle each time Al Sagar's star mare Nashwa took to the track, guiding her to three Group One victories at the peak of her career. The formal retainer may have now come to an end, but Al Sagar and his racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe hope to maintain their link with the rider. The latter said: "We're keen to stress that we have had a fantastic relationship with Hollie throughout, and we hope that will continue for many years to come in different forms. "There are, however, moments when it is time for a change and Imad felt this was the right time to move on. "We will now use Oisin, when available, in the absence of Hollie." Doyle told "Unfortunately, I was informed on Friday I'd lost my long-standing retainer with leading owner Imad Al Sagar. It came as a bit of a shock, particularly at this stage of the season. "I've been a part of Imad's operation for five years, riding 38 winners including at the highest of levels. We've enjoyed numerous stakes winners, a Royal Ascot winner and a Classic winner with the wonderful Nashwa in the Prix de Diane in 2022, followed by two further Group One successes. "I have nothing but the utmost respect for Imad and would like to thank him for giving me such an amazing opportunity at a formative stage of my career. I wish him and the team the very best of luck in the future."

Hollie Doyle becomes Britain's most successful female jockey
Hollie Doyle became the most successful female jockey in British racing history when Brindavan gave her a 1,023rd winner at Ascot on Saturday. The 28-year-old, who has surpassed Hayley Turner's total, reached 1,000 domestic winners in March and has regularly ridden more than 100 winners a season since 2019. Her best season was 2021, when she won 172 races. 'It's a nice milestone to reach and I'm really grateful to all the female riders who came before me,' she said. 'Hayley had it a lot tougher than I did and she paved the way for people like me to go on and do this, and there's plenty more female riders in the pipeline who will go on to do it. Things are looking good and I'm just grateful it was easier for me than it was for Hayley.' The jockey, who rides for Archie Watson's Lambourn yard and is retained by owner Imad Al Sagar to ride his horses, was already the most successful in terms of Group One races, having won her first on Glen Shiel in 2020. Her best association was his filly, Nashwa, who won three Group Ones. Doyle, who is married to fellow jockey Tom Marquand, is keen to keep extending her record. She added: 'I'm trying to keep my head down and keep things moving forward the whole time. I've no room for slackening the pace. You have to be really resilient in this sport and everyone has to work hard. You have no choice but to. I'm no exception. Being a jockey isn't a forever career so you've got to make hay while the sun is shining and thankfully it's still shining.' Turner announced her retirement, for the second time, in April when she became pregnant. If Doyle needs a new target she is still some way short of the record of 3,704 career winners set by Julie Krone in the United States. The big race, the Schweppes Victoria Cup, on Saturday's Ascot card was won by Saffie Osborne, another female jockey going places, on Hickory, a 22-1 shot trained by her father Jamie. Father and daughter are off to America at the end of the week when they run Heart of Honor in the Preakness Stakes, the second leg of the US Triple Crown, at Pimlico on Saturday.
