Man in Affair Allegation Is Woman's Husband!
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 12: The Misdemeanor Court of First Instance acquitted a Kuwaiti woman who was accused of insulting and slandering her friend by claiming she was having an illicit love affair with her father. According to the case file, the victim testified that she was at home with her husband (the defendant's father) when her friend unexpectedly arrived and began shouting at her and demanding that her father leave the house. She was also subjected to defamation, being called an adulteress, and falsely claiming her father was not her husband. The defense counsel of the accused lawyer Inam Haider argued that the elements of the crime of defamation were absent, both in terms of material evidence and criminal intent. She stressed that the case lacked any conclusive proof of the accused's guilt and that the accusation was fabricated and maliciously made by the victim, given that the accused's father was secretly married to her friend. She also emphasized the impossibility of the alleged incident occurring.
