RML P39 hypercar prototype makes public debut

UK-based engineering company RML Group wowed spectators at Supercar Fest The Runway 2025 with the first public appearance of its limited-run P39 40th Special Edition (40SE) prototype. The event, based around top speed and repeated full-throttle acceleration runs, is staged annually at Sywell aerodrome, near Northampton, UK. It provided the perfect opportunity for RML to flex the vehicle's muscles. Designed around the Porsche 992.1 Turbo S, the P39 40SE combines elements of Le Mans Hypercar technology with practical road capabilities. Key modifications include an increased track width at the front and rear, along with an extended wheelbase. The standard body has been replaced with a carbon fibre shell, featuring active aerodynamics such as a driver-controlled drag reduction system and a remotely adjustable chassis to boost downforce. With this set-up, the car generates 662kg of downforce at 240km/h. Under the engine lid, the twin-turbocharged six-cylinder motor has been tuned to produce 671kW and 1,000Nm of torque. RML achieved the increase in power by fitting a new ECU, upgraded turbos and intercoolers, new manifolds and catalytic converters, plus an Inconel sports exhaust. Four drive modes are offered: Normal, Sport, Sport+ and Wet. According to the company's simulations, the P39 40SE is capable of lapping the gnarly Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6:45, quicker than a base 992.1 Turbo S by 32 seconds.

Novitec turns the wick up further on Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale

Renowned tuner has extracted a bit more from the Prancing Horse's hybrid V8 flagship. Ferrari models bearing the label 'XX' were always designed exclusively for driving on racetracks. The SF90 XX Stradale, therefore, represents the first hybrid supercar to be developed in Maranello that offers the extreme performance properties of pukka GT race car, but that is still road legal. More power Enter Novitec where they start by fitting a high-performance exhaust system that not only provides a wilder exhaust note, but it also results in considerable performance improvement. ALSO READ: Ferrari removes the reigns from new hardcore 757 kW SF90 XX With the Novitec system, the SF90 XX Stradale's power output jump to 607 kW from the standard 587 kW. At the same time, torque of the combustion engine increases 804 Nm to 840 Nm. Being a hybrid with battery electric assistance, the total system output of the SF90 XX increases to 780 kW. Mechanical changes The Novitec exhaust system consists of 100-cell metal catalysts, while all the components can be manufactured from either stainless steel or light Inconel, the high-end metal alloy also used to manufacture the exhaust systems in Formula 1. The optimised exhaust gas routing lets the twin-turbo V8 expel the gases more efficiently. In addition, the thermally insulated system also lowers the temperature in the engine bay, which likewise contributes to the performance increase. More power has been extracted from the plug-in hybrid V8 powertrain. Picture: Novitec Even further improved heat dissipation of the Inconel variant can be achieved with optionally available 999 fine gold plating. The Novitec mufflers are available with or without electronic sound management by means of actively controlled butterfly valves. The sophisticated aerodynamics of the SF90 XX Stradale that are designed for maximum downforce remain untouched. Subtle changes have taken place inside. Picture: Novitec Designed with American manufacturer Vossen, the wheels are available in three different designs and in a variety of colours. Novitec sports springs are available to lower the ride height of by about 25 mm at both axles. This ensures an even more aggressive look while also contributing to further optimised handling. Precision CNC Machining

Precision CNC machining is essential for applications demanding exacting tolerances and flawless finishes. At XC Machining, our precision services support industries such as aerospace, medical devices, and high‑performance engineering. Our equipment features thermal‑compensated spindles, vibration‑damping structures, and closed‑loop feedback systems, enabling positional accuracy to ±0.002 mm and repeatability under ±0.001 mm. Multi‑axis mills and Swiss‑style lathes handle micro‑features, deep bores, and tight radii in a single setup, minimizing part handling and error. Material selection spans stainless steels, titanium, Inconel, and high‑performance polymers like PEEK. Custom fixtures and vacuum chucks ensure part stability, while in‑process probing verifies dimensions during machining. This adaptive control compensates for tool wear and thermal drift in real time. Surface quality is equally rigorous: we achieve finishes down to Ra 0.2 μm with precision grinding, polishing, and micro‑blasting. Specialized coatings—hard chrome, diamond‑like carbon, or biocompatible passivation—enhance wear resistance and performance. Quality assurance uses industry‑leading metrology: coordinate measuring machines (CMM), non‑contact laser scanners, and optical comparators capture high‑resolution data. Every batch ships with full inspection reports, SPC charts, and material certificates. XC Machining maintains ISO 9001, AS9100, and FDA registrations to meet stringent regulatory needs. For critical parts where precision matters most, trust XC Machining's expertise in precision CNC machining. TIME BUSINESS NEWS

Novitec enhances Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale with exhaust and chassis upgrades

German performance specialist Novitec has introduced an upgraded exhaust system for the Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale, designed to boost the supercar's output and sharpen its driving dynamics. Available in stainless steel or lightweight Inconel — a high-performance alloy used in Formula 1 — the system adds 22kW to the 4.0l twin-turbocharged V8 engine. Combined with the SF90's three electric motors, this increases the total system output to about 780kW. In addition to the exhaust upgrade, Novitec is offering a range of bespoke wheels developed in partnership with US-based wheel manufacturer Vossen. Buyers can choose from three designs and a wide selection of finishes. The 20-inch front wheels are paired with 255/35 tyres, while the 21-inch rears wear wider 325/25 rubber for improved traction and stance. To complement these enhancements, Novitec also offers sport springs that lower the car by about 25mm at both axles. This modification not only sharpens the vehicle's appearance but also lowers the centre of gravity, potentially improving handling.
