Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara' received on Sunday the final report of the Independent National Committee tasked with investigating the events that took place along the Syrian coast in early March. اضافة اعلان According to a statement from the Presidency, the committee was established to ensure that Syria moves forward on a path in which no violations or attempts to obscure the truth become part of its future—whether related to the coastal events or any other incidents from north to south. The Presidency expressed its appreciation for the committee's sincere efforts and confirmed it will carefully and thoroughly review the findings in the report. The goal is to take steps that will promote truth, justice, accountability, and help prevent future violations, as part of the broader process of building a new Syria. Affirming the Syrian people's right to the truth, the Presidency requested that the committee consider holding a press conference to present its work and main findings. The briefing should be held as soon as practically possible, in a way that preserves the dignity of victims, respects judicial procedures, and protects evidence, as reported by the official news agency SANA. The committee was formed in March, following tragic violent events on the Syrian coast, where remnants of the former regime allegedly attacked security forces, leading to chaos and numerous casualties.
