Modi Touts Growth, Bid to Lead Global South Ahead of BRICS
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is using his ongoing tour of five nations across Africa and South America to reaffirm India's leadership ambitions for the Global South, ahead of a BRICS summit.
'Progress cannot come without giving voice to the Global South,' Modi said in an address to the Ghana parliament on Thursday, adding that India places strong 'emphasis on Africa's rightful place at the global high table.' It was the first visit by an Indian prime minister to the country in over three decades.
