Pandiraj's latest directorial, Thalaivan Thalaivii, featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen in their first on-screen collaboration, hit theatres on July 25, 2025. The Tamil film, produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, blends romance, comedy, and drama while exploring the strain in a married couple's relationship caused by family have praised the relatable storyline, leading to a solid box office run. Made on a budget of Rs 33 crore, the film collected Rs 49.1 crore in India within 13 days and reached a global total of Rs 74.3 crore by its second week, according to box office reports, cited by India to IMDb, the plot revolves around Agasaveeran (played by Vijay Sethupathi), who runs a modest tiffin centre with his family, and his wife Arasi (Nithya Menen). Their relationship, initially warm and affectionate, soon turns into a series of petty disputes, leading to a three-month separation and a divorce petition.
