The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day on Monday, the day Parliament reconvened after a six-day break, following repeated disruptions by Opposition members. A scheduled special discussion on Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla's historic space mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS) was also disrupted. The discussion, titled "India's First Astronaut Aboard the International Space Station - Critical Role of Space Programme for Viksit Bharat by 2047", was expected to highlight India's strategic goals in space exploration, including the upcoming 'Gaganyaan' human spaceflight mission. Minister of State for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed disappointment over the Opposition's refusal to participate. Following the passage of the Indian Institute of Management (Amendment) bill in Lok Sabha, the house has been adjourned for the day. The Indian Institute of Management (Amendement) Bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha amid protests by the opposition over the electoral roll revision in Bihar. SP chief Aklhilesh Yadav said the leaders of the INDIA bloc had decided something when asked about the Opposition's Veep pick. He said the information would be disseminated soon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the opposition to back the NDA's Vice Presidential candidate, stressing that the post should be filled through consensus in the general committee. He added that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is in talks with leaders of various parties on the matter. At the NDA parliamentary meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Jawaharlal Nehru divided the country not once, but twice. He pointed to the Indus Water Treaty, under which 80 percent of river water was allocated to Pakistan, calling it "anti-farmer". PM Modi added that Nehru later admitted to the mistake through his secretary. Introducing Radhakrishnan at the meeting, the Prime Minister described him as a grassroots OBC leader known for his simplicity. During the NDA Parliamentary meeting, PM Modi felicitated CP Radhakrishnan, the ruling bloc's Veep pick, with a video also surfacing online.
