Noida: Amid frequent jaywalking on the busy DSC Road, Noida Authority will construct a foot overbridge from Sector 15 to Sector 2, and then on Udyog Marg to connect Sector 1 near the Indian Oil Building.

The triangular foot overbridge aims to enhance pedestrian safety, offering residents and office-goers a secure, uninterrupted crossing in place of the hazardous road dash.
"We have decided to develop a food overbridge/skywalk equipped with escalators. This will be 122m long and 10m wide. This will be developed for Rs 10 crore on a build-operate and transfer basis," RP Singh, general manager, Noida Authority, said on Sunday.
The foot overbridge will be equipped with multiple LED screens for advertising, along with selfie points and aesthetic designs to create a pleasant experience for commuters. The Authority aims to generate revenue through advertisements while ensuring safe and convenient access for residents and office workers.
The lack of a proper crossing on DSC Road has forced pedestrians to jaywalk through heavy traffic, risking their lives—especially during peak hours when vehicle movement is highest.
Commuters have welcomed the decision, saying it was long overdue. "Crossing this stretch is always a problem as there is a huge rush during peak hours. A foot overbridge will be a huge relief for everyone," said Ankit Verma, a resident of Sector 2.
Dheeraj Kumar, general secretary of Sector 15 RWA, said that the project will benefit several people near the Sector 15 roundabout.
"People who take the metro for commuting will also use it.

However, it will be at some distance from the Sector 15 residential area," Kumar said.
The foot overbridge will be built on a BOT basis, with the selected agency maintaining it for 11 years.
Located near the Sector 15 metro station, it will serve the busy commercial hub of Sector 2 and mixed-use Sector 15, improving pedestrian safety on DSC Road.
