Ambati Krishna denies funds misuse claims
Former President of Srikakulam District Congress Committee Ambati Krishna Rao on Tuesday alleged that a few people with vested interests made false allegations in regards to funds related to Indira Vignan Bhavan, the Congress Party office in the district. Addressing the media on Tuesday, he said that former Union Minister Killi Kruparani and other leaders have targeted him as he gave Dalit and BC leaders an opportunity to lead the party in several constituencies of the district.
Mr. Krishna Rao said: 'During my tenure, the Indira Vignan Bhavan, which owns commercial properties was maintained with the rental income received. This is in accordance to the guidelines of the party. My suspension as a DCC president by the Pradesh Congress Committee is not valid since the All India Congress Committee has to take the final decision after conducting a thorough enquiry.'
He added: 'I have been with the Congress Party for the last three decades without any break. Other leaders have left the party after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. I will submit a detailed report to the AICC over the happenings in the district.'
